A great place for a family to grow up, in an area that used to have more alleys. The only downsides are the awkwardly spaced parking lot and cash-only, though cash is available at the supermarket next door. My family’s been in Wakefield or Melrose for many generations. Three generations including me have been raised with the Bowladrome, and my extended family would often bowl there 12/26 when folks traveled to Mass for Christmas. Now it’s a known TV and movie set, and I live a half mile away. I visit with Wakefield friends sometimes, like this holiday weekend.

Gerry, Thank you for the warm reception and a wonderful Friday night out. Been away from Candlepin for 25+ years being married in Atlanta. We're just visiting, but could not have asked for a better place to introduce my family to the sport. They were thrilled with the experience and are already asking about going back. Thanks again. Great place. My son triumphantly tossed the ball in joy (see pic). I’m glad I can go. A bit costly but I can’t blame them and everything’s expensive these days. P.S. Any discount you can offer me is appreciated?

Visiting the area on a vacation and was looking for something to do on a late evening after a busy day. Came upon this place thinking it was "regular" bowling. Being from PA, we never heard of this but it was amazing and so much fun. I really wish we had this in my area. It is easy to learn but also very challenging, way better than normal bowling, me and my son had a blast. I think it was $28 per hour and, in my opinion, a great value. We easily bowled 3 games in that time and if we didn't have to go, would have bowled another 3. The gentleman working was awesome. Super cool guy and very helpful explaining the game to us rookies. Everything about this place took me back to my childhood and the good days, it's got an "old school" feeling and that's a great thing. Great customer service, fair prices and a good atmosphere. I also appreciate the cash only policy. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be back. Highly recommended and I hope for many more years for this fine...

My wife, daughter and I came here for the first time this evening (Sat. 12/30/23). League bowling was about to start and all non-league lanes were busy. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and really nice; he apologized, and gave me an idea about how long it might be until a lane would free up. While we waited (it took a while) he and we chatted about things like how candlepin bowling is only available in this area of the US, the old TV program "Candlepins for Cash", another bowling alley I had called (no names) and the unpleasant guy who answered, and the "Blizzard of '78". We had fun, the price was right, the counter man and other customers were very nice, and there were families with little kids. ...
