Kipos Roast Beef — Restaurant in Wakefield

perfect, solid, done-right N Shore beef...can not possibly go wrong. every time you go. period.

I'm not even from Wakefield (I grew up in Peabody), so I'm not supposed to praise another town's beef...but I moved to Somerville about a half dozen years ago and (obviously!) there's nothing even close to a N Shore roast beef -- not here, not anywhere else!

Kipo's I was familiar with obviously, and it was the closest one out of the legendary "real deal" N Shore beef staples of the community, so being a Peabody original who went to school at Masco (Charlie's) and frequently made the quick trip to Danvers (Supremes) and grew up loving Kelly's (when it was good), I had to make the 15 minute driver from Davis Sq b/c I had an itch that everybody knows cannot be scratched in Somerville -- once you move here, that part of your life is over....

I would put this up against any other N Shore staple in all of the conversations that us people of the region have almost daily. I won't say things like "the best" like everyone likes to say -- not b/c it isn't, but b/c when you reach absolute perfection as they and a very select few in the region have, there is no "best"...

My point is the absolute least complimentary thing you could possibly say about Kipo's Roast Beef is that they might be TIED with a couple others for the absolute best roast beef on the N Shore (and naturally everywhere...

Made to order my favorite! "Fish wrap" 🌯 on wheat, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, tartar sauce with a lemon wedge on the side. Full from top to bottom with fish & taste great! it's HUGE ! 🤯 that's a 40 oz water bottle next to it for perspective. Not only is all the food here great they also have couple small tables with chair's outside to eat your food on nice days which is a treat as well as a couple tables inside. Customer service all the way from top to bottom shows from the way the stores cleanliness to the cooks food speaks for itself to the person answering the phone and taking orders. No order mistakes I've been ordering for years & no mistakes made I appreciate that alot. They treat their customers with great respect and appreciation. They are a very hard working team with long term staff. I could go on about how great the experience here is but honestly don't take my word for it just stop by & go see for yourself. Thank you Kipos for everything! BIG thumbs-up 👍 from myself & friends. 👏

Unbelievable experience! I called just to let them know that the Calamari plate, which I spent $16.59 for was very chewy and I was trying to make a suggestion on the cooking time. I was on the phone for about 6 minutes and all I heard in return was excuses - never an apology or any sort of understanding. I was told it was our fault that we did not eat it immediately, I took to long to call back, no refund was to be given or replacement, he even said, "what do you want me to do because we can do nothing for you." The owner/manager wasn't available - gone home for the evening. I ABSOLUTELY was NOT looking for a refund or more food. I was ONLY TRYING to help in sharing my experience. Imagine arguing over who is right and who is wrong. Peter, the gentleman I spoke with, even told me that he has been there for 15 years and had never heard of a complaint like mine. Sir, I have been in Wakefield since 1978. I watched them pull old stock out of the freezer. I should have know right there and then. Simply unbelievable! I wish I could give...
