Sweetbay Flowers and Gifts — Local services in Wakefield

We had to say goodbye to my Nana today and I placed a floral arrangement to be delivered for the services from Sweetbay. I placed the order online and added a note asking if we could add two ribbons (one for Mom and one for Nana) and requested pastel colors and Irish greenery.

Minutes after placing my order, I received such a nice text from Liz letting me know they’d take great care of this arrangement for me and could accommodate my requests.

I originally requested delivery on Saturday (mass services were on a Monday in the morning) and I didn’t want to risk them not arriving on time since it was just a mass, not a wake/viewing. Liz texted me as we got closer to let me know she contacted the funeral home directly and coordinated a time to deliver the flowers on Monday morning instead.

The arrangement was everything I could have dreamed of and it was absolutely beautiful and arrived on time.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Sweetbay for a long time. I have always appreciated its products, friendly service and inviting atmosphere. I never envisioned a day where I gave Sweetbay anything but 5-stars, however, I was incredibly surprised and disappointed to see that a deer bust was recently put on display. As someone who values compassion toward animals, it was upsetting to see something that represents hunting and death used as decor to enhance the store’s appearance. To think about its precious life wasted and then turned into decoration feels deeply saddening. Choosing to display it reflects a kind of complacency about what it represents.

I understand that others may not share my perspective, and that’s okay. Unfortunately, it’s changed how comfortable I feel supporting this business after many years of it being my go-to place. Out of respect for my own values, I will not be returning and I’m sure will miss it dearly, though I do hope the store continues to thrive as a small business, yet consider how its choices might impact longtime...

I absolutely love all the floral designs from The Sweetbay Shop. The Sympathy Traditions flowers that I ordered were amazingly beautiful and peaceful to look at. Sadly, when dear someone passes away, I only order floral arrangements from this florist. They have next day delivery which is important to me because I sometimes order them at the last minute, and boy did they deliver that same day instead. This place is truly a top notch when it comes to floral arrangement for any occasions. Prices are very reasonable. They're absolutely stunning to look at. Just checkout their website. BTW, it's also a cute little gift shop. That's plus! Unfortunately, I would never take a picture(s) at a funeral parlor. So I have no pictures to add. Like I said the floral designs on their website is exactly how it is when you order them but only MUCH better when you actually see it...
