Let me start off by saying that I've shopped in Desi clothing shops all over this country and I have never been met with such unprofessionalism.
Libaas is one of the few bridal stores in the metro-Detroit area. As a result, they get most of the business in the area. My cousin and I went to discuss the plans for her wedding gown here. Amin was in the store that evening. We explained to him that we still had not heard back from his brother who was in charge of her custom gown. His brother failed to communicate with us and rather than apologizing, Amin flat out accused us of being in the wrong and asked why we didn't reach out to his brother. We showed him multiple texts between us and his brother where he just left us on read. His brother apparently had time several times a day to change the picture on the business's WhatsApp profile, but he was too busy to respond to us. Amin's next question was, "Why didn't you call the store then?" We didn't call the store because we were told to communicate with his brother regarding this matter. He was assigned to this. However, because we didn't call, Amin found his bait and he stuck to it and repeatedly told us we should have called the store.
The cherry on top to all of this was that my cousin's sister-in-laws dresses had not arrived in time for their event, for which Amin also did not apologize.
My cousin, the bride, left a bad review for Libaas and Amin or one of the store owners called her family members and told them to ask her to take it down. I've heard a lot of Libaas horror stories and I beg of brides to go anywhere but here for their big day. Unfortunately, much of Libaas's clients are Bengali and we refrain from leaving bad reviews on account of people in the community talking so the true reviews of Libaas never see the light of day. Don't trust this place for anything. They have big heads because they have clothing other places in metro-Detroit don't. The drive to Chicago, New York or Toronto will be worth not having to deal with...

When I first met Amin Bhai and spoke to him the first time he said do u trust me ? As shuttle as I was ? He means Exctly what he says you put ur trust on him as I promised he will Make the best outfit for u as u wanted. He was incredibly helpful and extremely patient with me each time (I went there about 40x from Feb to Aug ). he was very kind, considerate, and went above and beyond to explain how everything works and how to properly dress for a wedding. He kept updates every time. He really took his time with me and wasn't trying to push any items on me, but instead helped me find the perfect affordable accessories for all events. Depaste Amin Bhai Maybe busy and not answer your call right away but he makes sure to return my call always. Some time miscommunication happens when taking every detail work but as I experience Amin Bhai takes his reponablity and fixes the error right away. I don't know how I would've done this without his help! Shout out to libaas and thier entire crew. P.S if you need a great laugh walk up to Fokrul Bhai he will some how make you laugh during the most stressful time...
Read moreWhere do I begin? There is a lack of clothing sizes and options here. If you wear anything from a size 44/46 and up, you will have a hard time buying clothes here. They come in very small batches in comparison to the other sizes and when asked why, their response is either that there is a lack of of plus sized clothing or that it is what it is, essentially. I wear sizes 38/40/42 depending on the brand so it’s easy for me to find clothes, however it’s really sad seeing family members and customers dismayed cause they’re not catered to. Also, for the price of the outfits, the quality does not match. A lehenga that probably costs $200 is priced at $500. Paying for the quality of the outfit and time of work is normal but practically being scammed is not.
It’s unfortunate too considering Libaas is one of the few places in Michigan that carry designer clothing. There’s a lack of businesses here so they can set the price however they chose to. Having to wait weeks upon weeks for a shipment of a few average dresses that are pretty much one size is such a waste of time. The Bengali community is so small so of course we have to support each other, yet it hurts too when our own community has businesses that don’t carry to plus sized customers and have arrogant behavior.
Just, if you’re a South Asian person that wears 44 up, you’re better off ordering online or going to any other...
