Absolutely atrocious service. The power frequently goes off to the entire neighborhood just from light rain or even a stiff breeze, sometimes it just flickers but sometimes it stays off for 1-3 hours completely at random. I don't mean heavy rainstorms even (which would still be unacceptable mind you, because this is Virginia, we get those literally every other week in summer and you should be prepared), no, I am talking weak 10 MPH bursts of wind in the middle of an otherwise sunny day. I assume this is because they're too lazy to clear branches away from lines until after a storm knocks out power, because I frequently see lines completely overgrown along the road.

The most recent winter storm left us for THREE DAYS without power in a house that has electric heating and electric cooking, temperatures inside got down to 40 degrees. And their service has been getting continually worse over time, there weren't this many outages 10 years ago, power outages used to be something spooky and rare as opposed to a monthly or weekly occurrence. Not to mention the price gouging for services you aren't even getting half the time because their lines are down, as well as the nonexistent customer service.

One star is far too high a rating, but just like how I don't have the option to pick an actually competent utility company, I also don't have the option to give negative stars. Do doesnt help . I for one wroke check it was return not something i do that started the snowball. Im on SS get pay once month all bills have to come out of this. So they put me on a daily payments plan unless you can pay for more than one day...if you still on bill they put half on bill have to your usages. . So my new bill came in so they wanted like 1000 few to yurn on..who has that. So after they chared 40.00 check return fee the 80 reconnect fee n then to take 300.00 deposit plus what ever else. Cost me 275 to go on 5h8s prepaid that ice been fighting. Then to call payment in its $4.95 each time on card n .60 cents to use yiur bank account doesnt cost thst to mail payment . So wish i could get away from NNEC. Ive never had people treat me like they do.. i pray for each of them that work for them they never get in bind is that what i want to call it.. im talking ftom president all the way done.. whom ill going to right. N anyone else i can . All they say is see if you can get help ..try to tell them you know your csnt because you are high end if SS sure doesnt help..i have not had other people bye my bills .well my kids have help out ..anyway as of now i may beable to make a payment for 1 more day n dont get paid for 10 more n they say sorry cant help.. n only owe less than $20.00 on bill n cant pay deposit until i get...

Northern Neck Electric do not deserve even ONE star! Our bill was paid one day before our power was turned off without LEGALNOTICE! Coming back from a Dr's appt, I pull into my driveway to find a Northern Neck power truck there. The gentleman was very kind and asked if we'd received a LEGAL CUT OFF NOTICE on the door? We NEVER RECEIVED ONE! First time this has ever happened to us in 18 years! It was very hot outside and my pets were panting and stressed when I got home! Northern Neck Electric is a VERY SHADY company. I don't understand why we can't choose a different power company, one that is much more closer to us like Stafford. We are just over the Stafford Co line and we're stuck with this horrible company Northern Neck Electric CO-OP They sham you without LEGAL NOTICE, CUT YOUR POWER OFF even though it was PAID then make you PAY EXTRA to have your POWER turned back on, oh YEAH, THEY charge you for PAYING WITH A CREDIT CARD! If you ask to speak with a supervisor or CEO of the company, you're told you're NVR allowed to speak with them SO , you're stuck listening to someone working from home with screaming kids in the background and NO HELP AT ALL. They're VERY RUDE and Nasty! No COMPASSION towards people and animals. They can't explain to you why they NVR sent out a LEGAL NOTICE. They just want more MONEY! This sounds...
