The short version - very nice place, employees are very nice and informative, popcorn is expensive (by popcorn standards), but worth every penny.
The long version - I went in to the Warsaw location with my wife on her birthday, since we live within walking distance and she had been wanting to check it out. I'm normally skeptical of "fancy" things, such as gourmet popcorn, however, my wife and I tried a flavor that was supposed to taste like Northern Neck ginger ale (her favorite), and it was amazing. It tasted like ginger ale. I don't mean that it kind of tasted like it, I mean that it tasted like ginger ale. It wasn't too sweet, there was no aftertaste, and I was amazed.
There are more flavors than you would think, and some are seasonal. All of the ones we tried are phenomenal. The employees were very nice and informative. We ended up getting the peanut butter chocolate, and the movie theater butter. Both tasted home made, and I mean that as the highest compliment.
I'll admit, the price seemed borderline obscene to me at the time of purchase, on the walk home, and throughout the consumption of 2/3 of the bags of popcorn. However, it was the last third of the bag that made me a believer. I ate a decent amount of that popcorn, and every piece was perfect. You know how sometimes you'll eat popcorn, and you'll bite a kernel that makes you feel for a second like you just broke a tooth? That didn't happen at all. The quality control is better than what you buy at the regular stores, and after actually finishing those bags of popcorn, the prices made way more sense to me.
They even have a punch card loyalty thing. After writing this review, I might go get some more popcorn. Highly recommended if you're...
Read moreCame here over the weekend and finally got to dig in to the sample box we ordered. You only get 12 8oz containers of different flavors in said box which is relatively disappointing for the price of $35. The selections are done by staff and your left choosing only the seasonal flavor which means youâre stuck praying whoever selected the box flavors for the month gives you something worth eating. Honestly the flavors for some, like the buttery white cheddar leaves the butter to be overpowering and the dill pickle was just underwhelming. Honestly this company is way too overpriced just to sell popcorn in four different locations. On top of that the girl behind the counter didnât change her gloves when handling orders and collecting cash and debit cards before going back to dealing with the popcorn. I get it, itâs a small town and Saturdayâs at noon youâre going to get an overwhelming influx of people. But itâs a sanitary and a health code hazard. Always change your gloves, I had to walk out of the store with a family member because we both noticed this and let my group members finish their transactions...
Read moreFinally got a chance to stop by the Popcorn Bag while visiting family and friends in the Northern Neck. They had a Black Female working and she seemed to be mad at the world. Didn't greet us when we walked in. She acted like we were disturbing her when we walked in. This is a sales position. I've been in sales my whole life. She wasn't engaging. She gave off negative energy. What can I get for you is what she said. She didn't give any type of recommendations as to what is their best seller or anything close. Some of my friends said that they've gotten the same vibes from this SAME female. I got some popcorn but I couldn't get the experience out of my mind. She doesn't need to be working with the public with the attitude she displays. It takes away from the experience and the business. I was not pleased with my initial visit to the...
