The food was good, but the service was so horrendously, shockingly bad, we will never return. They are seat yourself, so when we came in we found a table. It was towards the bathroom in the back, so after waiting a while I thought maybe they hadn't seen us (they hadn't) so I went up and double checked that it was seat yourself. They said yes and asked how big my party was, so I told her where we were. The waitress was inattentive and unfriendly when she finally came. Our hot beverages were lukewarm when they arrived- though very tasty. It took over 30 minutes for her to take our order. I ordered the pimento burger. She asked me how I wanted it cooked. 30 minutes later, no food and no beverage refills, no visits from our waitress, nothing. My dad actually took my son to the playground next door while we waited!! When my dad came back he went to check on the food and said we had been waiting a while. The manager came to our table, apologized for the wait, said there was no way we had been waiting over an hour (from the time we sat down - over an hour easily), said they were busy (they were, but there were still open tables). She said there were several to go orders ahead of us but it would be out in 15 minutes (not a good idea to prioritize to-go orders over people sitting waiting, btw). She was so rude I was ready to leave but we waited. When the food came out mine was a chicken sandwich with pimento on it. I said I ordered the burger and I kid you not she said "That isn't on the menu." ???? Yes it is. I had a whole conversation in front of her with my sister about it AND she asked me how I wanted it cooked. It's one of 3 options under burgers. I ate the chicken sandwich and it was great, but we were miserable just being there at that point. We paid our full bill and left. What was meant to be a fun family day in Warsaw will forever be "remember that day we were treated like dirt at Egg-spresso?" It could have been great because their food was very good. But the vibe is BAD. So disappointing....
Read moreWhile the ambience and concept of the restaurant is adorable for a small town restaurant. It wouldnât exactly be my top choice to return to on the Main Street even if all the other restaurants were shut. These three stars are honestly quite generous for this restaurant due to the fact itâs located in a place with such a small population. Iâve been to smaller towns as a traveler who could whip up a meal faster than they did today. The wait staff was nice but it didnât make up for the fact it took over thirty minutes to plate and serve three mediocre meals. The locals were very obnoxious with their loud conversations and standing by the tables instead of simply sitting with their friends. I ordered the Maâs pimento cheese sandwich and my party members ordered a breakfast burrito and chicken and cheese quesadilla. My sandwich was quite bland, Iâve had many different pimento cheeses across southern states and this was the first time Iâve had a cheese where you couldnât even taste it. The chicken and bacon on the sandwich simply overpowered it to the point it bordered disappointing. As a Virginia native Iâve had pimento cheese from Chicken Salad Chicks that had more flavor than what was on my sandwich. The breakfast burrito my party ordered was so small it looked like it could come out of a fast food restaurants back kitchen. The chicken and cheese quesadilla was something any twelve year old could make at home. Honestly none of what we ordered shouldâve been the $12.50 it was listed as. But hey at least they have a...
Read moreNow I love Java, jacks, in Tappahannock. Just a fantastic place. They opened this restaurant, not that long ago and it is a sister location restaurant in Warsaw. Walked in and two girls were standing talking at the register. And the area where we sat, there were tables with some dishes left on tables and the dainty little tablecloth that they put on their tables was littered with crumbs from previous meals. I mentioned that it looks like they havenât changed their tablecloth in a while, and she went and got another one and changed the table cloth. Their coffee is good and we both got coffee but I had to ask the waitress three times to bring creamer for the coffee. Probably a period of 15 minutes or so without cream. We were not in a hurry, but who likes looking at a nice cup of coffee for that period of time without cream if you want cream. We also got a Coke and it tasted all watered down. I guess is that it set in a picture with ice for a bit and all the ice melted. We ordered our food, and it came out. It looked really good, but it is obvious. The people canât cook there like at the other restaurant because it was all bland and tasteless. Iâm not being mean Iâm just telling the truth, and even though this restaurant is more roomy and more bright and the people are friendly. the food canât hold a light to Java, jacks, in...
