DO NOT GO HERE! The good reviews have to be fake! If I could give zero stars I would! Is this even a legit place? Did the dentist get his degree out of the Cracker Jack box?? My daughter is in RI at school and was having extreme tooth pain to the point of tears. 2 days ago was her appointment at ASSpen dental. Her appointment was for 430, saw the dentist,( name started with a S, don’t remember full name) got X-rays and was told she needed a root canal to be done by an endodontist. Dentist S told her to take Tylenol and Motrin together for the pain(I’m a nurse and already had her doing that along with salt water rinse and numbing cream) she explained to him she has been doing all of that and it’s no longer helping, his response was “oh” “well I can’t give you anything stronger” and was told to have a seat in the waiting area and that someone would speak with her shortly about seeing the specialist. SHE WAITED 2 HOURS in pain in the waiting room for the office manager Jenn to come speak with her. After leaving and her being there for 2 hours with nothing done for her I called and spoke to office manager Jenn who was rude and just kept saying she should go to the ER if her pain is that bad. Let’s just say the NY came out of me and I had a few choice words for miss Jenn. Fast forward to today my daughter got an appointment with an endodontist that told her she had a very bad infection that had gone into her sinus cavity and would need to complete a course of abx before he could do the root canal. PLEASE TELL ME WHY/HOW DIDN’T THE DENTIST AT ASSpen SEE THIS ON THE X-RAYS AND START HER ON AN ABX RIGHT AWAY?? I NEED THIS TO MAKE SENSE. called back the office today to let the office manager Jenn know that my daughter had a serious tooth infection that spread to her sinus cavity and how could the dentist not have seen this??!! She had no explanation for me other than to profusely apologize. I find this to be SEVERE NEGLIGENCE and told Jenn I wanted to speak with someone above her. She told me to leave a review and that the district manger Yasmine would reach out to me🙄 Dear Yasmine, I’ll be waiting for your reach out as we have some...
Read moreI am extremely unhappy with the services at Aspen Dental. After being given a treatment plan of well over $4000 for things I did not want (including Invisalign braces), I was in sticker shock. They let me pick and choose what I needed the most. I asked a number of times if my dental insurance was going to cover what they said they were going to cover and they assured me that they ran my insurance and that was going to be the actual bill.
Looking at my insurance EOB, Aspen lied to me. 90% of the items they said my insurance covered, did not. Clearly they lied and told me it was covered to say yes to their treatment plan. My $1700 original charge is now turning into a $4000 bill.
They are overcharging too! After seeing my EOB, and calling around, they are charging 50% more than what other dentists in the area are charging.
The dental assistant that did all my cleaning was a gem (which is boosting the rating) and she made me feel comfortable for the procedures. The dentist however was very unorganized and could not give me the attention that a tooth filling really needed. I could feel like he was not paying attention at all. He was talking to other staff while he was in my mouth drilling away. It is not acceptable for that. Work on one patient at a time.
If Aspen rectifies this situation, I will gladly change my review. If a resolution is not found, I will be reaching out to the Attorney Generals office as this is full on bait and switch and I refuse to pay anymore money to Aspen Dental.
UPDATE - 8/3 Turns out the tooth that needed a cavity fill is actually now infected due to the negligence of the dentist. Aspen is taking the right procedure to making sure I don't have to pay for that now. They also have fixed my billing issue although I rather have my credit back in cash, but it is what it is. If you do go - have them put EVERYTHING into your insurance before they do any work. Not just the treatment plan - more like they put in a pre-estimate with your insurance. That why you know what things will ACTUALLY cost before going in. Changing from a 2 star to a 3. But go somewhere else if you have the...
Read moreHold onto your wallet! And watch the Frontline episode about them. (Google it: Dollars for Dentists) before you go I suggest. Went in for an extraction, and after taking the x-rays the dentriss (female dentist?) Started to insist I had come in to get my rear molar on the right side out. I explained it was on the left side as I raised my right hand to the side of my face. SHE then says "Yeah that's your right side!" And so I explained to her that yes the side I just touched is the right side of my face, the wrong side to have the tooth pulled from. It wasn't until the X-ray tech confirmed to her that I was correct did she believe me. The dentriss was visibly annoyed to have been corrected and was snappy the rest of the two minutes she bothered to be there, and wanted me to get healthy teeth extracted as well. When I kindly (and sheepishly) explained and I didn't think I could afford that she again started almost yelling at me for not taking her advise. When I went back a few days later this time it was a dentist, he was very professional and did good work pulling the correct tooth. After, I went to the front, and as agreed with the office manager the last time I had been there, payed for the services rendered. Now three weeks later they claim I owe them another $40 they forgot to charge me. This place is just out to make money and want to pull as many teeth as they can to hopefully get you to sign up for their credit card, and into their made-in-store dentures. The dentist's get bonuses if they meet or exceed certain quotas. Basically the more work they can charge you for, the more they make. Don't fall for their scare tactics. They will bring you into an office, close the door and it's like "let's make a deal" with them trying to get you on a payment plan. I only went here as I needed an appointment very quickly, and they were available. Never again. Go to a REAL dentist who is good enough to have his or her own practice. Sheesh. What a racket.
Also who ever cleans the office missed the faux ivy.....
