‘We’re sorry, we just have limited stock and if one employee doesn’t tell another employee something is on hold, they just put it back out on the floor.’
^This is what I was just told while leaving their store. Let me back up. Two weeks ago, I contacted the Warwick RI Men’s Wearhouse by phone and attempted to pay for a suit, in full, using my credit card. The suit is part of a wedding group.
I was told I could not pay over the phone because I needed to be sized. I explained I had already been sized by their own staff one week earlier because I was part of a different wedding group. Then the employee attempted to tell me my size may be different because suits run differently.
—Anyone who has a brain in their head, even working at diminished capacity, knows that while suits indeed run different, my physical size, (44R chest 32x34 legs) did not change in one week. I was subsequently transferred to a different employee who didn’t attempt to BS me, but did explain they couldn’t take cards over the phone. Fine. I asked that they hold the suit for two weeks so that I could get there. (I live an hour away and work two jobs. My time is fleeting at best). This second employee advised they would put the suit on hold, no worries. All good right? Wrong.
Today, I arrive to the store, before the two weeks, and I departed the store holding a faded receipt bearing their internal SKU for the suit (in the event the suit should ever return to stock), along with the store’s half-@ss’d apology.
Bottom Line: Avoid this company if you, like me, don’t have time in your day for BS. If you’ve had a good experience with this company in the past, I would certainly recommend not using the Warwick, RI location. Personally, I’m at the age where everyone is getting married. I will be the squeaky wheel telling everyone I know to avoid these (people). Why risk having a wedding party looking like a patched quilt. Weddings are too stressful and these people are (I have decided to remove my own profanity before posting).
Sidenote: I’m convinced the reason for their unwillingness to take cards over the phone is they don’t have the ability to up-sell or add onto the order. If you disagree with me here, may I suggest visiting their store, demagnetizing your credit card (for science), and watch what they do. Here, ill save you the trouble, (they’ll manually enter the numbers, expiration, and maybe the code on the back). Never again people,...
Read moreWarning Long Review* Enterd the store on Bald Hill Rd, Warwick on Sunday, 01/17/21. It was approximately 4 pm. We walked around to find the suit section, no one acknowledged us- store was very quiet, didn't seem to be any salespeople on the floor except for 1 helping another customer... we then walked & waited by the front door & stairway (it's a 2-level store) for approximately 10 minutes & finally a man walked down the stairs and proceeded to walk past us, still no acknowledgment... we stopped him, asking if he worked there - he turned to us & said "yes", (while he was chewing on something). We asked if he could assist us in suit selection, etc., & we proceeded back to the suit jacket racks. 5 mins into looking at suits we found what we wanted & the salesman said he had to check 'stock' on that particular suit, as we needed 4 of the same suit for our wedding. He went to check on stock for us- first on the store computer & then walked away towards the front of the store (we assumed to the stock room?)... after waiting for him for approximately 10-15 minutes, we walked throughout the store looking for him (or someone else who could help us with the purchase), he wasn't anywhere in sight... & the other salesperson was still assisting the other customer. We waited & walked around for 5 more minutes, but he never returned. We ended up leaving & going to Jos A. Bank where they were very attentive & helpful... 4 suit orders are in process & Jos A. Bank just acquired 4 new customers who were previously Men's Wearhouse repeat customers for years.... I read a few months ago that Men's Wearhouse was coming out of a recent Bankruptcy filing. My suggestion, if they want to come out of it on top- HIRE attentive salespeople that WANT TO SELL & earn. We were there to purchase & they had the suit we were looking for! He just had to check what was in stock! Luckily we found a similar option at Jos A. Bank down the road in Garden City, Cranston. 4 (high quality) suits on order... $$$$ well spent for our late...
Read moreMy fiancée and I went in looking for a tux rental for myself and to buy 4 suits for my groomsmen. We made an appointment for a Saturday at 11 and were fairly prepared in what we wanted. When we got there the staff treated us like a couple of kids going to prom and told us to wait while they attended to other customers. I guess the appointment meant nothing to them.
They then took half-hearted measurements and wrote some info on a piece of paper and then told me my rental would be in two days before my wedding. When I asked about trying it on before to make sure it would fit properly (I'm a bigger guy so suits don't always fit right) they told me that the tux would be fine. I asked if I could speak to a manager and was told they could get a trial tux for me but only after I made a big deal about not wanting to go to my wedding in a tux that possibly wouldn't fit right.
Even after I put up with all the tux sizing I was still interested in buying 4 suits for my groomsman and when I asked the girl who was "helping" me with my tux she simply told me that the suits were downstairs and if I had any questions to ask someone down there.
Needless to say we left with a deposit on a tux but no suits for my groomsmen. I called the other location down the street and asked them if I can have my tux delivery switched to that location. They were more than accommodating and I am much happier to be dealing with them. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.....
