Read moreI shopped at the Pen Argyl location on June 3rd 2025 and purchased $91 and change worth of goods. I had a change of plan for a project and came to return $67 and change worth of stuff on June 26th 2025. I did say I was exchanging the latter amount for other stuff to Megan. She in front of me counted out the galvanized joiners. It was quiet and raining really hard so I didnt want to go out side to get my additional 2 bags of soil so I only made a transaction of $30 worth of exchange of goods. I asked her the date and she said the 26th and I remarked I still can get back before 30 days. She heard me say that and answered about the date and she heard me say -exchange-. I went back on the June 30th to complete my exchange for the remaining $ 37 approx the store owed me of my money. The girl Megan said she didnt remember me from the other day even though she painstakingly counted out all the galvanized joiners. The store was quiet on the 26th and she didnt appear to me to b a person who got distracted easily. I had 4 people tell me AND question the validity on the 30th that I didnt state originally for store credit an exchange. I did so. I looked up our bank accounts. My personal which I used on June 26th showed they and the store did infact register the transaction as a credit voucher to me for the 1st leg of the exchange for a $30 purchase. But Ace refused to honor the remaining $37 of goods out of the $67 total worth i turned back to the store. Again I say Megan lied when she said she didnt remember any of the 26th transaction. The manager was even worse than that and refused to exchange OR refund but knew by looking at the receipt they had taken back the goods. This store is playing at a scam (a federal offense) to come out ahead on the med to small amounts of money at the end of the fiscal I'm guessing. I will b contacting the police. My husband's card which is for our joint account that I used on the 3rd of June also has not been refunded any money either. These people r NOT to b trusted. Exchanges and credit is their...
I just moved to the area, and we are doing multiple house renovations. I need to go to ACE multiple times a weeks, which means I’m spending quite a bit of money each time I go. Everyone in the store is super helpful and kind, except for one employee. Erica is literally the RUDEST, unprofessional employee I have ever came into contact with. The first time I came into contact was it her, I just assumed she was having a bad day, and ignored it. But after she continued to be rude, have some nasty attitude and this resting B face, I had enough. She doesn’t bag my items, expecting me to take a large order and throw it back into my cart unless I ask for the bag myself, and when I do, she rolls her eyes and does some little scoff. It has happened every time since. My boyfriend thought I was just exaggerating the situation, so the next time we needed things, he came too. It was even worse the day he came along, that I literally had to walk out of the store and have him finish the purchase. I don’t normally allow things like this to bother me, but it’s like she only does it when I’m in the store, because on two separate occasions, during a purchase she has said to two different men “what’s up trouble” & “oh hi sweetheart!” Both in some flirtatious way. During my transactions. Like where is the professionalism here? Maybe it’s females or her own insecurities around other women that bother her, but that is absolutely no excuse for the way she treats customers in the store. If she can’t be professional, friendly, or do her job properly, she simply should not work there. She is almost always the cashier when I go to the store, and it makes me extremely uncomfortable to have to be in the position she continues to put me in when I go into the Bangor store. I’d go elsewhere if it wasn’t two minutes down the road from my home. I shouldn’t have to switch the store I attend because of this employees attitude and I...
Read moreI've seen other reviews for this location on here about rude employees and borderline-scamming when it comes to returns, which I have experienced both of myself.
My most recent, and expensive, purchase at this store was a Toro mower about 2 months ago. It came pre-assembled and worked fine the three times I used it, but now it is blowing smoke and oil from the exhaust whenever you start it up and it's running poorly.
Ace refuses to do anything about it since they only have a 30 day return policy. I've been told to call so many different phone numbers between different Ace locations, corporate, Toro themselves, etc, and everybody just keeps passing the blame without doing anything. I guess this means I spent almost $600 to mow my lawn three times?
I have dozens of family members in the area that have shopped here for decades, and I can guarantee that they'll lose out on more than this mower was worth if they don't step up and do something about this.
This is on top of another bad experience I had this winter. I bought an Ace-brand salt spreader and Ace-brand salt for the winter. The first time I used it, the spreader just kept jamming even on the largest setting. It was clear the thing was just junk because I used a different spreader a week later with no problems. Anyway, I went to return the Ace-brand spreader two days after purchasing it and they refused to refund me because it had been used. How else would I know it's defective if I...
