Bagels on the Corner & Deli — Restaurant in Washington Township

I have been asked to go to Bagels on the Corner in Bangor by so many people. I tried once and naturally it was the one day a week they’re closed. I finally made it out on a day they’re open…and I was rewarded handsomely.

This is The Fat Boy! Sausage, bacon, Jersey meat (I don’t care what you call it, save yourself the few words typed), eggs, cheese, and a hash brown. I ordered it on an egg bagel. Menu price is $10.95 and this was my breakfast and also my lunch.

The bagel was a little doughy for my liking, but I didn’t get it toasted so maybe that would have changed it a bit. Everything else was delicious. No SK for anyone who is curious, but I did add some P. I don’t love ketchup on eggs, and with that many breakfast meats you do not need salt.

I would have loved to give 5 stars..but..unfortunately I was disappointed with the bagels. If you know what a good bagel is supposed to taste like, this isn’t the place. Service was good, good portions on the sandwich, but lacking in its namesake. The area needs a place like this and I wish them luck, but the bagels just don’t cut the mustard.

Edited 5/12/2022- been in a few times since my first visit, bagels are still lacking being a good bagel and the fake tan lady is always unfriendly. There are many reviews here and FB regarding her. Avoid her if possible. Customer service is just as important as food quality. I’d be much happier with my tasteless $8 turkey sandwich if it came with a smile. Positives first: I never ordered anything that was bad. Food is good!

Negatives: 3 times I have gone in to bring bagels out and they are all empty. I went this past Wednesday at 9:15 am after having lab work and they barely had any bagels to chose from. We took lunch out today - called at 10:45 and did not have any of the bagels I selected. The woman who took the order didn’t tell me what ones she had left and I felt like I was a bother. I love to support local businesses and will continue to go I just wish they made more bagels being that they are a Bagel shop.
