My husband and I were in Slate Belt Diner last week on Friday, July 15th. Once we were seated , a 4young lady came over and introduced herself as Marlin. I'm sad to say that because of the service she provided to us, we will never be coming back to this diner ever again, or at least until she no longer works there. I'll spare all the details but I will say, she got our orvder wrong, she over charged us, with absolutely no apology, she never checked on us after she brought our food out, not until we were finished. So, we were stuck eating meals that we didn't order. She never mentioned any specials to us, when she took our order. She seemed like it was to much for her to handle and the diner wasn't even at max capacity. She made us feel like we were an inconvenience because we came in to eat breakfast. We spend ALOT of money eating at our local diners and our waitress made it the worst experience we've ever had. I will say that the food was really good though, even though it wasn't what we ordered, so kudos to the cook. If you go here, beware of the service from the waitress who...
Read moreI moved to the area 3 years ago and went here for the first time today. I ordered the cheesesteak omelet. The menu didn’t list what kind of cheese they used and I didn’t even think to ask. The omelet came out with American cheese on it, which I hate. I didn’t eat the omelet and when the waitress came back over, after my husband was done, she asked if I wanted a box. I told her no, I didn’t realize it had American cheese on it and I won’t eat it. She never once asked if she could get me something different or if I wanted it remade. She responded with, OK did you guys need anything else today or just the check. Annoyed I told her, I guess this will just be a waste of $10 then, just the check. When we went up to pay I told the cashier they should update their menus with a better description of their food so people don’t end up not eating. Again, she replied with - OK. Very frustrating because their menu didn’t list the cheese and, yes, I was the one who forgot to ask, but how hard would it have been to at least offer to...
Read moreI sat and ate breakfast here with my fiancé on a Tuesday morning. When walking in we were greeted with kindness and seated quickly. The waitress we had was wonderful she was knowledgeable on when to check in and take our order giving us time to look at the menu as this was our first visit. When the food came out we were impressed on the size of the meal we ordered(double play breakfast platter). The food was presented nicely and taste even better. The pricing was by far very good given the size of the meal i would say it is reasonable if not more than what your paying for. The atmosphere here,is cozy quiet diner with friendly faces happy to work there. I would overall recommend this diner to anyone looking for a nice sit in dining experience. We will be for sure coming back to check out...
