A friend of mine (Joe Himali @bestaddress Like & Follow) that spotlights historical places in the area recommended a spot!! It’s one of the only authentic Russian spots in the city. All I know is Beef Stroganoff…let’s see what else they got!! . Where I am: @vokzal.dc . Location Reviewed: 1914 9th St., N.W. Washington D.C. . Items Reviewed: STAMP!! Their Sweet Tea ($4 with an English Tea no. 1, sugar, & candies). I thought I was getting a cold brew lol!! It came out hot, but tasty!! STAMP!! Their Mini Beef Skewers ($11 with bell peppers). Simple, tender, smoky deliciousness!! STAMP!! Their Tickets ($9 four crispy balls of chicken with cheese inside, deep fried with a white sauce). Get these!! Well fried, cheesy, with a tartar sauce/ Ranch kind of sauce!! LIKE THAT! Their Teriyaki Wings ($14 5 fried hard wings). Crisp, & well sauced!! LIKE THAT! Their Beef Stroganoff ($29 strips of Filet Mignon with mushrooms, onions, a mustard sauce, & mashed potatoes). Well made!! Super tender beef, creamy, with an easy buttery mashed potato!! DELICIOUS. Their Pelmeni ($18 Traditional handmade Russian boiled dumplings stuffed with seasoned ground beef, & a side of sour cream). STAMP!! Their Chicken Tapaka ($31 A traditional Georgian dish. Flattened & weighted fried chicken, fried in a frying pan called a Tapa. With pickled cabbage and Adjika Sauce on the side). Crispy chicken, and well seasoned!! No dip necessary but that Adjika hits!! STAMP!! Their Medovik ($12 a Russian Honey Cake). Layered, creamy, tasty!! . Customer Service: On Point . Parking: Rough! . Recommendations: Try that flattened chicken!! . Accessibility: It’s wheelchair friendly, & it’s differently abled persons friendly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️=STAMP ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️➕=LIKE THAT ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️=DELICIOUS ⭐️⭐️⭐️=DECENT ⭐️⭐️=PASS ⭐️=NAH #Bigschlimsreviews

An Absolute Delight at "Vokzal" in Washington D.C.! My recent visit to "Vokzal" in downtown Washington D.C. was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped in, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of elegance and comfort. The interior masterfully blends modern touches with classic charm, creating a warm and inviting space perfect for any occasion. The cuisine is simply superb. Every dish we ordered was a work of art, both in presentation and taste. It's clear that only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients are used. The chef's talent shines through in every unique and memorable flavor combination. I especially want to highlight the chebureki – incredibly juicy and truly a taste of childhood! And the chicken Kiev is absolutely amazing, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The service is impeccable. The staff at "Vokzal" are not only attentive and professional but also genuinely welcoming. Every request was met with a smile, and their menu recommendations were incredibly helpful. This flawless service truly elevates the dining experience. Overall, "Vokzal" is more than just a place to eat; it's a complete culinary adventure. It's where you go to savor exquisite food, enjoy a beautiful ambiance, and experience perfect service. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

we were on our way to a show, starving and a bit pressed for time, when we spotted this Russian restaurant that just pulled us in. We hadn’t planned on it, but we thought, why not? It turned out to be a pretty cool experience! The place itself felt more like a train carriage than a cozy grandma’s house—kind of a weird, long, and narrow setup. Still, the vibe was nice, with some light Russian music giving it an authentic touch. The food was tasty, not mind-blowing or anything, but solid. We got a few small dishes to share, and they hit the spot just fine. The staff were really kind and friendly, always smiling, but the service was a bit slow. When you’re in a rush for a show, you notice that kind of thing, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker. All in all, it was a fun, spontaneous stop. If you’re nearby and craving some simple Russian food.
