Let me start off by saying that I really wanted to like this place. I went yesterday on the 31st of May based off of a post on Instagram. The post advertised that they would have two food trucks (jerk at nite and another one). They also said there would be two DJs. This was false, there was one food truck that was a Jamaican cuisine, and they only had one option. The bartenders were nice but they never made any comment of the advertised food truckâs absence. Also, the âdrinksâ were pre-mixed, âon the rocksâ brand. You had the option to buy an extra shot of whatever to add to the pre-mixed beverage. For a 375ml bottle they were charging 45 dollars plus a 20% mandatory gratuity. Im actually not really upset about the price of the bottle, but 20 percent gratuity is definitely over the top. Iâm not a cheap tipper by any means, but I felt like this was absolutely ridiculous to say the least. What a fantastic place! From the moment I stepped in, Sandlot Uptown exceeded every expectation. The atmosphere is electric yet welcoming â vibrant decor, great music, and plenty of energy without ever feeling overwhelming. The staff truly make the difference: attentive, friendly, and always ready with helpful suggestions.
The food and drinks were outstanding. Menu choices are creative, fresh, and perfectly executed. The cocktails hit the mark, and I loved that there were options for every taste. Whether you're there for a quick bite or a relaxed night out, youâll be equally impressed.
Location is ideal, with plenty of nearby parking and easy access whether youâre coming from uptown or downtown. Itâs the kind of place where you want to linger: great company, great service, great vibe â I canât wait to go back! Highly recommend for locals and...
Read moreWhat a huge disappointment and waste of time. Paid $50 for reservation, no host upon arrival; no reserved table; and no cold-pressed drink. The bartenders were no help and just stood there with folded arms. They advertised over 50 Black-owned Restaurants, Caterers and Chefs in DC, MD and VA but only one food truck on premise. The variety of foods from the advertised 50 Black-Owned restaurants was one of the main attractions for me (I'm plant-base). You have to order through Uber eats and have your food delivered.
The advertisement was so misleading!!!! I would not suggest or recommend the Sandlot to anyone who's looking to have a nice outside dinner-in-the-park experience. You will do better preparing your own food and finding a bench or picnic table in the park. With that, you exactly what you...
