Terrible Experience at Sam's Nails - Neglects Nail Health and Unsanitary Environment
Review: ā
I recently had a deeply disappointing experience at Sam's Nails that compelled me to write this review. For years, I had been a loyal customer, but the recent changes in their gel polish removal process and overall disregard for nail health have left me utterly dissatisfied.
To my dismay, I discovered that Sam's Nails no longer performs gel polish removal using the gentle hand buff and acetone method they previously employed. Instead, they rely solely on a drill tool, which I explicitly requested them not to use due to its harmful effects on nails. Despite my concerns, the nail technician reluctantly proceeded with the hand buff method.
What made matters worse was witnessing the nail technician's appalling negligence towards another client. I observed her carelessly drilling off the gel polish on that woman's nails, followed by a hasty repaint with more gel. The consequences were dire, as my aunt, who had undergone the same drill removal process, suffered from severely unhealthy nails, with her nail beds even bleeding. It has been five months, and her nails are still in a deplorable state. This incident clearly highlights the lack of professionalism and concern for the customers' nail health at Sam's Nails.
Adding insult to injury, when a co-worker inquired about the extended waiting time with the acetone/cotton wrap on my nails, the technician became visibly upset. Subsequently, she resorted to mocking me and proceeded to do a subpar job, damaging my previously healthy nails. It was evident that her behavior stemmed from unprofessionalism and a lack of respect for her customers. I left in the middle of my manicure.
Moreover, the overall cleanliness of Sam's Nails was deeply concerning. During the 30-minute soak, which should have taken no more than 10-15 minutes, I had ample time to fully view the establishment. The place was shockingly dirty, reflecting their negligence towards maintaining a hygienic environment. The deterioration in cleanliness over the years was striking, indicating a lack of effort and care on their part.
In light of these distressing experiences, I strongly advise against patronizing Sam's Nails. Seek out a professional establishment that values your business and prioritizes the health of your nails. The evidence speaks for itself, as I have attached a photo taken in my car right outside the business, which showcases the deteriorated state of my nails after the appointment.
It saddens me to witness the decline of a once-reliable salon. Sam's Nails has become lazy, unprofessional, and overall unsatisfactory. Spare yourself the disappointment and frustration by choosing a nail salon that genuinely cares about its customers and upholds the highest standards of hygiene and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went today around 1:30 to get a gel/shellac manicure. I was immediately sat down at a chair (which was surprising/great because it was kind of busy.) Out came a taller, white, possibly Russian/Swedish girl, obviously not from here, had an accent. She was not very pleasant, quite rude, very abrupt with one word answers when I would ask a question. Although, I was very impressed with how particular and attentive she was to my nails and I was there for 2 hours. As soon as she was finished, all she said was "Okay, you are done, thanks" and got up and walked away. I walked out of the salon just to see that in the sunlight, my nails were bubbled up, streaky, and some parts on the side of my nails were not even painted. If it hadn't already taken her 2 hours to paint my nails, I would have gone back inside, but I had to get back to work. This is the second time trying this place and haven't had a good experience either time.
DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE BACK
**UPDATE 2/8/19: I went back later that afternoon and told them what had happened. I asked to speak to the manager/owner and she pointed over to a man who offered to fix them real quick for me. Although, he blamed the polish for being bubbly, streaky and half painted because my nails were short. When in reality, the girl who did my nails earlier had cut them down super short.
**UPDATE: 2/10/19: My polish is already starting to come off on the tips of my nails and the sides. My thumb nail has actually broke off also, after I mentioned to them about it being a little cracked and all they did was super glue it, instead of dipping it like I've had...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went there yesterday to get a full set of gel nails filled in. I requested Olivia as she did them the last time & she did a much better job than the guy who had done them the first time. There were 2 women waiting ahead of me. Olivia called one of them to have her nails done & the other went off to get a pedicure. I waited. Then another woman walked in & she was called by Olivia to have her nails done before me. Assuming she had an appointment and with a need to do other important errands that day, I went to the front desk to inquire if I could make an appointment & come back later. I stood there for about 4-5 minutes while NO ONE even made an attempt to help me. Finally, as Olivia was walking by I asked her if I could make an appointment. She informed me that she was full until 5:30 THE NEXT DAY. Why would the people who signed me in not tell me that to begin with??? Did they expect that I would sit there all day & wait while watching appointment after appointment walk in & be served by Olivia who was fully booked? This place used to be well run but it has gone down hill in the last year. It needs better management. I will from now on make an appointment before setting foot...
