Kitchen Cabinet Outlet — Local services in Waterbury

This place is not customer friendly.... It was a hassle getting the order in. Today, I picked up my order. Every single cabinet came with either a scratch, a dent or the "paint" peeling. Cabinets are not finished well and shows real bad craftsmanship. Materials seem "cheap", one shelf had a wood looking thin paper covering that was already peeling before installation. I called the manager, Tom and he promises to come in person tomorrow to decide how we will proceed next. At this point I am frustrated as I can either deal with this and keep damaged goods, or return them all and have to go shop for new cabinetry and wait God knows how long to have it delivered. Meanwhile, my kitchen has been gutted and nothing can be done, including the floors or sink, or dishwasher until I have cabinets. Huge nightmare that I hope will be resolved soon and in a satisfactory manner.

Update: 1 Week later, cabinets still not installed, replacement cabinet also cracked so waiting on another, manager promised to install "skins" at the end of units to hide dents, no idea when they will do that. They said they will refunf $250 ( the penalty fee I have to pay to the countertop people for having to reschedule the appointment as per our contract) but nothing else. My contractor is really frustrated as he cannot do any other work until cabinets are installed. Meanwhile I'm without a kitchen...

Spoke with Shawn regarding a quote for a kitchen that I needed. We put everything together over the phone and It was supposed to be sent via email. The email had the breakdown of the units we needed but with the prices Inflated. When I showed that to my customer they asked why they we’re paying $1900.00 for a $3500.00 kitchen. I explained to the customer that kitchen cabinet outlet wouldn’t give me the itemized list with the adjustments for pricing. I called Shawn back to see if he could make the corrections to the paperwork for the customers purposes (being that this is a house flip) and that accurate paperwork is being required for the lawyers as requested. I was met with a defensive, rude, and unprofessional attitude while on the phone with Kitchen Cabinet Outlet. We had shopped around looking for a company that not only had a floor displays of mock kitchens, but had designers as well to assist us in a full kitchen remodel. Most companies we went to either ignored you when you walked in and you were on your own or they wanted to sell you the entire store. NOT KCO!! Chris in Waterbury was outstanding. Didn't come across as a sales person, he became our designer very quickly. Chris is very knowledgeable in design and installation. Incredible experience from day one. We were kept up to date on our order and Chris was able to coordinate directly with our installer to ensure install happened very shortly after delivery of all kitchen items. I also think the "key" to the success is a top notch installer of which KCO has a list of recommended installers, but may want to ask for opinions or others who have used specific installers.
