I have to say I have been to this restaurant three or four times now and each time has been great whether it’s take out or dining in!!!! This time (1/13/24) I called around 5:30 PM to make reservations for 7:00 PM and they were able to accommodate. When I had called, the young lady I spoke with let me know that she only had a bar top available in the bar area, but would upgrade me to a table if it became available. I thought that was very nice. Fast-forward : I arrived at 7:00 PM as planned and was seated at my reserved table promptly. Shortly after my lovely guest arrived, we mutually decided that we in fact would like to sit in the bar area because it was a little more cozy. I’m not sure if it was the owner, but she quickly arranged the change and cleaned off an area for us that had recently become available and was super kind in making the switch and in fact, stated that she likes to please everyone that is a guest. We shared some laughs, and a quick exchange in words, and we were seated. All of the staff behind the bar were super accommodating and friendly. Service was prompt, and food and drink came out at a very reasonable time. The food was excellent!!!! Chicken Milanese with mashed potato and veg, and the dessert was also very good!!! We ordered the blueberry crème brûlée, which was a fantastic unexpected treat! The espresso martini was literally the best I have ever tasted!!! ….and I have ordered many! (We are Espresso Martini snobs) In all honesty, the staff treated you like family. Extremely hospitable, and it feels like you’re at your own home restaurant when dining there. This is my new favorite restaurant, and it’s close to home!! I love that!!! That is a definite win in my book. If you’re in the area, make sure you check out this place as it is difficult to find a restaurant that provides service like this, with great...
Read moreI will not lie. Brass City Bistro was not my first choice for dinner last night. Not that I had heard anything negative about the place. It's just that I hadn't been there for dinner since it first opened about fifteen years earlier, and really haven't been in the area for dinner in as long. The one thing I can say is, I'm incredibly happy we ended up there!
My wife and I were a bit nervous about getting a seat seeing as though it was Friday evening right at the dinner rush. Too add to my initial concerns, all they had were two seats at the bar. I usually don't like those accommodations for dinner, but that is where any and all doubts ended. We first were greeted by who I believe was the owner. She was gracious and pointed us toward the open seats. We were then re-greeted by the friendly bar staff and promptly served our drinks. The dinner specials were explained to us at which point we decided to order two of the options in addition to an appetizer. I won't go into detail about our individual selections. I will say we ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with Lobster, and the Cast Iron served Steak and Mushrooms caps with sliced potatoes. They, along with the Bruschetta appetizer were amazing!!!! I'm not one to talk of presentation (not qualified), but I will say the portions are enormous. I'm usually not a person to consider leftovers or a doggy bag as a plus. But in this instance, I was so happy to bring home the remaining Steak and accompaniments. Everything that was served was delicious!! The service, for a busy Friday night was great! And although I was not prepared for for such a fantastic experience, I was truly thankful for it! I highly reccomend you experience Brass City for...
Read moreMay want to avoid if you have a seafood allergy. This past Wednesday I went to Bistro with a group for dinner and ordered penne-alla-vodka with grilled chicken. When I placed my order, I informed the waitress (who by the way was very pleasant) of my food allergy and whether the chicken would be cooked separately from any other seafood they would be cooking. She confirmed that she would let the kitchen know. I did not finish my portion and saved it for the next day. The next day, while transferring the food to a dinner plate, there was a shrimp in my dish. It must have been at the bottom of my plate, at the restaurant because I never saw it. I was glad I transferred it to the a different dish at home, if not , I would have bitten into it, and likely would not have been alive today. Food allergies need to be taken seriously by those working the kitchen, and if restaurants cannot properly accommodate those with severe allergies, they should quickly let the customer know so that the customer can make other choices if other choices are available. This could have been my death! And for this reason I can only rate it with 1 star! On the other hand, the atmosphere was great and the waitress was attentive and very nice. I should also mention that I am not blaming the waitress. I understand that most waiters/waitresses typically only bringing...
