I called in today at lunchtime to inquire about custom fabric availability for a groom’s suit. I had seen positive posts online about this. The associate who picked up just said “hello” so I had to make sure I had called the right place. I then said I was interested in a custom groom’s suit, and asked if there were floral fabrics available. My call was sent to a second associate, who immediately sounded annoyed at my request. I was told I would have to look through the bins to find a custom fabric - that’s okay, I understand fabrics come and go. When I asked if it was likely to find something (to see whether it would be worth coming in), I was met with judgment that a request for floral fabric had never come up before, and they didn’t know. They then asked me whether I had looked at the website, which I had but I didn’t see fabric options on the website. So I asked whether I missed something on the website, like a page with fabric selections. I was met with the same response that they didn’t know what fabrics were available, and also that a custom suit would cost over $1300, with a judgmental/defensive tone. It was less than a three minute phone call that ended with the associate telling me there were two customers waiting. I am disappointed that my call was received with such impatience. I was hopeful to be able to order a custom suit from this local business with great reviews, but I am disheartened at the customer service. If I could leave ten stars I would. I went to a local tailor to have a custom suit made to wear to my youngest sons wedding. The process started 3 months ago and with less than two weeks before the wedding date, the tailor called to inform me that my suit was in but we had “a problem”. I wear a 46 long and the suit was cut as a 36 regular.

With a bit of panic in our hearts I recalled a recent ad I had seen for Eastern Clothing. I reached out and received a prompt reply from the owner, John. He asked if I could come in right away, “ I want to help you”.

We arrived to a busy shop and were greeted by John. Within an hour I had a suit coat that fit and a promise that he would get the suit pants in time and altered for me. I am not an easy fit. 46 long jacket with a 36 waist. When we arrived to pick up the suit it fit like a glove. I also picked up a shirt, tie, couple of pair of jeans and some beautiful casual shoes. My wife is crazy about my “new look” letting me know that my clothing has never fit so well.

We are off to Santa Fe for the wedding and I can’t thank John and the staff at Eastern Clothing enough. I will be shopping at Eastern Clothing from now on. The selection is excellent, the clothing quality is superb and their customer service is exceptional. My husband, father-in-law and I went to see John for wedding tuxes back in June of this year. Even with a full, busy store John gave us his full attention and listened carefully to what we had in mind. We were so pleased with John's level of expertise, kindness and patience that my husband also ended up buying a suit and a sport coat. When my husband called about scheduling a fitting John remembered exactly who he was and made sure to ask about the wedding plans, work and our family. At the fitting John was attentive and detail oriented, making sure the tux fit my husband perfectly based on his body type and not that of a standard tux. On our wedding day my father-in-law forgot his dress shirt and John offered to send TWO shirts to pick from directly to the hotel. He sincerely didn't want us to have any interruptions during our wedding weekend.
