A spring broke in our 19 year old couch and we decided to get it repaired and reupholstered. My research pointed to The Custom Shop and I'm so glad it did! Toni helped narrow down their huge selection of fabrics to a manageable assortment that met my durability and cost requirements. She pointed out that our couch had something called "biscuit seams" that they could recreate, or replace with self-covered buttons which are much less expensive but would give a similar effect. She was up-front that it would be several weeks before they would pick up the couch and then a few weeks before it was returned. We got it back a couple weeks ago and it is even better than I hoped it would be! We selected new, firm foam for the cushions and the couch is so much more comfortable! We hadn't realized how saggy it had become. The upholsterer made a double-sided piece for the back of the couch for our dog to lie on and he threw in well-tailored arm protectors as well. The self-covered button back looks terrific. All-in-all a great experience and now I can't wait to get more...

Good work, but so slow. We had some cushions restuffed for our main couch. I asked up front about timeline, and got 3 different answers, the longest turned out to be true. First time, when inquiring on phone, I was told 2-4 weeks, and that they could minimize that by bringing them in on the day they'd be picked up. Second time (a couple days later when I brought the cushions in), I was told probably 3 weeks, but they would commit to four. Third time, they called in at 3 weeks, and told me it would be 4 weeks. What I really struggled with though, was when inquired about the most efficient time to drop them off (this is our main couch, it is a pain not to have cushions), they told me drop them off Monday for sure, we're ready to start. Then when I came in, someone told me they don't do the work in house, and the service only comes on Thursday to pick up the work ! It seems like a nice place run by knowledgeable people, but also feels like it is still running on 20th century technology, and mostly on paper, so efficiency of operations is...
