Ulta Beauty — Local services in Watertown

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this store. I needed a small gift and visited the store in a rush with just 5 minutes and the exact amount of budget to spare. One of of a sales associate asked me if I need a help so I was happy to get some help but Instead of providing prompt and efficient service, the sales associate wasted my time by walking around the entire store, showing me products that were completely irrelevant to what I was looking for.

What was particularly frustrating was the fact that the store had a section with product-minis that were perfect for my needs, yet the sales associate did not even bother to show me this section. After wasting more than 20 minutes of my time, I finally went to the cashier to make a purchase, only to find out that they did not have any bags, not even a small one for a gift.

Despite mentioning several times that the product was intended as a gift, the staff made no effort to provide me with any options to wrap or package the product in a suitable way. As a result, I left the store without making a purchase.

Overall, is better not to offer help at all if you are unable or unwilling...

I come to this ulta all the time and i’ve never really had a problem until a few months ago where two employees wouldn’t stop following me and my mother around. My mother and i are brown women. My mother didn’t notice it, but i did as i work for a beauty store myself. However i let it go and didn’t say anything even though i felt extremely uncomfortable with them following us around. Today my mother went to ulta and she called me on video call to show me something and i noticed two employees standing right next to her. My mother came back and told me they have a new security guard. Then she told me it was completely empty and the security guard kept following her around everywhere she went just cuz she had a marshall’s bag with her. I am so highly offended by this. I can confirm the other review that said brown people get stalked by security and staff. I used to go to this store regularly for years to the point that I'm sure that they recognized me. That's until I began getting followed around by the security guard and other staff. Literally, as soon as I walked in and stopped at an aisle, the security guard from the door would be lurking at the the end of aisle. I move, he moves. If he wasn't there, someone else would follow me around. I'm a Diamond member, so obviously I'm spending plenty of money at Ulta, not stealing merchandise. On top of this, one of the store employees who is always at the register is consistently rude and off putting right after being nice to the (white) person before me. This happened multiple times.
