My mom passed away and I had her wedding ring. I knew I wanted to take her beautiful diamond and make it into a necklace however I was hesitant because I was so nervous I would not like the end result and I needed someone I could trust. Shimon and Ruth were recommended to me by a dear friend. I had an initial meeting with Ruth and Shimon and I know the minute we started talking about the design I had found my jeweler. Shimon was so incredibly kind and took his time with me as we talked about the different designs that we could do. Ruth was so helpful giving her insight and explaining how different designs would look. I also had a necklace my husband had given me and I wanted that made into a ring. Shimon and Ruth helped me design that also. The results were way beyond my expectations and I could not be happier. The kindness that they showed me meant so much to me. It was a hard decision to dismantle my mom’s ring as this was the ring that she forever wore. They always say you will always remember how people treat you and I was treated with such care. The craftsmanship was superb and what I received was way beyond my expectations. The care , thought and kindness that they put into my necklace and ring was so evident. Today I went to get my ring resized (make it smaller). The guy agreed to do it for 100$ and he said it will take half hour. I came back in 30 min it was done, right size, everything ok. I asked him about piece that he cut out and he said that he’s not giving it back because he’s shaving the ring, not cutting ( never heard of it before and it doesn’t make any sense) So I paid and left, but I’m just wondering if it’s right? I used to get my rings resizes before and the procedure was following: weight the ring in front of me, resize it, and then at pick up, weight the ring again with the piece that was cut out, weights should match and I take everything home. As far as I know that’s the way to handle gold. Also price for resizing a bit ridiculous but I needed to get it done fast so I’m not complaining about it. Very unpleasant...
