Zeitlin's Delicatessen — Local services in West Chicago Township

The bagels, cookies, babka, everything is top notch, fresh and delicious, but they really excel with their customer service.

I went to pick up a pre-order at their Logan Square farmers market popup. But no one was there as all the vendors packed up because of the poor weather. This was a little alarming as we never received a call or text that our order was essentially packed up and not available. We were on our way to a Bris and couldn't show up late and empty-handed. We were quite upset as Sam didn't answer our phone call right away. On our way to the Bris, Sam called us back and insisted he drop off our order and make things right. We pulled off the highway, and Sam met us at an exit with the food moments later. We showed up a little late but not empty-handed. Everyone enjoyed the food, and everything tasted so good and fresh.

We had family visiting and I ordered some bagels and lox for delivery. Ordering was easy and when the day came we were notified the order was on the way. We got a text saying our order had been delivered and after looking around outside came to the unfortunate realization our order had been mis-delivered. I called the number right away and half expected to be told we would get a refund but otherwise would not be getting our food. Lo and behold, within the hour Sam Zeitlin himself was at our door with our delicious bagels and lox. We were very appreciative of the effort he made to make it right. As someone who takes their delis seriously, Zeitlin’s ranks high after my first few visits. The bagels are 10/10 - crusty on the outside, chewy on the inside, perfect with salmon or only smear. I’m not regularly a bagel-dog fella, but I tried it - incredible. You can taste the care in every bite, and the staff treats you like family. This isn’t just an excellent deli—it’s a top-tier deli, period. Go once, and you’ll be telling all your people to go too.
