Widowed on 9/15 and was referred to this office to assist with VA Claims. First, someone calls me on 9/17 and of course I am on the phone with about 10 other agencies and planning my husbands funeral. I play phone tag with this person--"Rolando" for several WEEKS. I get fed up and contact a state rep who miraculously gets right through to him. He calls me back, with a nasty attitude, presumably because I called the state rep. He continues to repeat that he "Tried calling me twice" and does not offer any additional help. I explain my situation, I'm widowed with two very young children and trust me if I didn't have to "bother" this office I wouldn't. He goes "oh, excuse me, what was that ma'am" and spends several minutes arguing back and forth. I literally explain I need to apply for these benefits, at which point, he hesitantly "offers" me an appointment, no date, time anything. I ask, is there someone without an attitude available? He then asks Eric, who I can literally HEAR in the background say, "ugh, she doesn't want to work with you?"
A woman, who does not identify herself, picks up the phone and says "Ma'am Eric's next available is Nov 12th" and I'm like "uh, I asked to speak with him," she goes "I just spoke with him and he's telling me to give you that date." I took the date, hung up, and contacted the state rep again. I sure hope these people aren't veterans themselves, because their behavior is DISGRACEFUL. I sure hope that other review about them being all fired is true. The state, our veterans, and surviving families are much better off without...
Read moreI have had this office lose electronic paperwork. I filed an intent to file a claim with the VA and later went to file the claim before my intent expired. It was claimed by my VSO that that claim was filed and I was given paperwork proving so. 3 months later I was told that it never went through and that it was settled. I keep getting told that they are "on it" and I keep getting ignored. They seldom return phone calls and currently if you call them it is answered by an operator who informed me that the director was no longer taking phone calls but that I could make and appointment or leave a voice mail and she would get back to me eventually. It has become increasingly frustrating to think that someone I entrusted a power of attorney to would seem to not care at all about the outcome of numerous mistakes they have made. I hope that our state and county care more for our...
Read moreI went here with my husband because we are both veteran. We went there were they did my husband stuff and it went through my stuff is it was harder but easy. Well I received my rejection letter and I call the office back. Then we called back to make an appointment to talk about what the next step should be. Then the day of the appointment they call me hours before to say they fire everyone and now they are not taking anyone from out of county. They gave us a number to our county and they don't answer their phone. Boy is this why I served my country...
