I’ve been a customer of this location (#671) for quite some time, and the service has always been consistent and efficient. In fact, when I moved to Bristol (where there’s a CVS literally down the hill from my home), I refused to transfer. My medications are always in stock, the store is organized and clean, and the employees are polite, personable, and helpful (I’ve been approached numerous times by associates—AND a manager—asking if I needed assistance).
However, I’ve noticed over the course of several months that the pharmacy is experiencing some type of transition or turnover. I cannot reach anyone by phone whereas in the past, someone ALWAYS answered the phones within minutes. Twice, I was on hold from the parking lot at my doctor’s office in Farmington all the way until pulling into the CVS parking lot in West Hartford. Admittedly, it was frustrating because if I’m calling to speak with someone, it’s genuinely because I need something that cannot be done through the convenience of the app or automated system. When I reached the pharmacy area, lines were backed up, and I could hear the automated call line state, “4…5…6…7 pharmacy calls”, while I was waiting for my prescriptions.
But will I transfer to the CVS next to my house? No way! As I’ve said before, I have been with this store for quite a while; I know how consistent the service has been in the past. And during this momentary transition, the store is still organized and clean, the employees remain friendly (some consistently addressing me by name), and their service remains efficient. It’s a rarity to experience this at most stores on their...
Read moreAbsolutely Awful experience. I went to the walk in clinic and was prescribed two medications that were sent to my regular CVS upon picking up said prescriptions they only had one the other was out of stock and was going to be at least two days before they were restocked ok I get this can happen. I called the walk in explaining the situation so they were kind enough to resend the one prescription to the 24 hour CVS on New Britain Ave in West Hartford this was about 6:30 pm. At 8:30 I started checking the app to see if it was ready and it just said in progress. I tried calling but couldn't get past the recording they weren't answering. I then drove to the CVS to stand in a line that started in the middle aisle, now I should mention that I get up for work at 4 am and usually hit the rack around 9:00 pm. I finally got to the pharmacy counter about 9:10 and after giving my information I was told that the order was in progress which I knew I then asked if she knew how much longer it would be and I was told 15 Minutes I told her I would wait the 15 minutes but couldn't wait much longer than that because of my work situation and that I drive a bus and need to be alert so it is important that I get my sleep. The clerk proceeded to tell me that she and the other clerk were supposed to be out of work already but there still working I waited until 9:45 and left without my prescription and the line was still starting at the...
Read moreThe 24-hour CVS on New Britain Avenue in West Hartford has been incredibly slow in refilling prescriptions and preparing them. On Monday, I had to wait the entire day to pick up my pain medication. I called and left a voicemail requesting an expedited service, but they didn’t seem to care. The medication was ready later that evening around 5:53 PM, and I’m currently in the process of getting it from another pharmacy. I strongly advise against using this pharmacy, especially if you have severe pain or an urgent need...
