Weis is the grocery store for many of the residents that live in Columbia or around the area. I’ve been going to Weis for quite some time now as does my mother and grandmother. However, Weis will never get my business again after having to deal with such discrimination and harassment. March 14th, my fiancé and I decided we needed to get groceries for our 4 small children and the household. After she left, she realized she forgot the card (which is what we needed to pay for our groceries) and was going to go back home to get it. That was around 6:20pm. She never did return home and when she did it was 12:15 am March 15th with no groceries. She left the card at home and hadn’t noticed until she had groceries in the cart already. When she asked one of the employees who is a regular that sits at the self checkout if she could leave the cart there and go grab the card the employee agreed and told her to move the cart to the side. As she was leaving another employee who was at the second to last register, made a comment and told her, “I see what you’re trying to do.” Confused, my fiancé asked what she meant. The employee repeated herself and made sure to tell her that someone stole a coffee pot recently which had nothing to do with my fiancé. At this point my fiancé was upset she was being racially profiled and assured the employee she didn’t take anything and that she forgot the card at home and needed to go get it. The employee doesn’t believe her so by now my fiancé is irate and the cops show up! She’s trying to explain the situation and while this is going on she made another comment to my fiancé saying, “we didn’t call them, they were just in the area.” The employee who told her it was okay to leave the cart never spoke up to tell the police or the other employee the truth so the situation ended with my fiancé being arrested and no groceries. Your website talks about your mission, values and vision but, the way these employees acted and went about things obviously need another lesson in human decency and what you try to “instill” in your employees. Absolutely sickening. The employees represent the business and if racism and harassment is what the real values are, I pray nobody shops...
Read moreThe cashier I had today smelled so bad. This isn’t the first but I always try to avoid her. I had no choice because she was the only one on register. This is an ongoing problem with her odor. Why would they let someone that smells that bad work with customers? I called the store and spoke with the manager. She said they are well aware of her Odor and they can’t do much about it. She said HR knows too. This situation is very offensive. Nobody should be subjected to deal with a person with horrible body Odor in the workforce. She needs to be pulled aside and told to shower before work and fresh clean clothes every morning. If she doesn’t comply she will eventually have to be let go ( terminated). There is such a thing as verbal warning, written warning and termination. This has been going on too long. Your employees represent your business. Is this who you choose to keep representing your Business? As a long time customer and over the years I never had this experience. Read moreI absolutely hate the store! Every time you use self check out they make you feel like you’re doing something wrong. They act as if you’re stealing!There was non-stop talk from managers to employees about being on top of people at the checkouts,especially with full carts! so I believe that theft at this store is a quite regular problem. There is an older woman that’s a manager that is a just the nastiest person to deal with! They are rude and suspicious of literally ever time you walk pass, Regardless of how often you were a reoccurring customer and never had any issues!!! They are normally out of almost half of my normal weekly groceries to where I end up having to go get them somewhere else anyway. Considering this is one of the closest shopping centers to my home it’s quite disappointing.I have also been told that normal products that they’ve had for a very long time and that the other stores carry they are no longer going to carry and they just don’t tell you Even sometimes still leaving an empty space and a label up for the product for weeks sometimes months after they stopped...
