Great Southern Gothic: Escape Room & Curiosity Shoppe — Local services in West Jefferson

Where do I even start? The escape room is unlike any I’ve ever seen. The details, clues and workings of the rooms are VERY unique & Zeea changes the escape room up quite often so you can always go back for a brand new experience. The store itself has a little bit of everything-essential oils, beard oils, bath bombs, artwork, unique clothing and sooo much more! During the summer, Zeea, offers Ghost Tours through Downtown West Jefferson which is a unique experience. You learn a lot about the town's history and may even spot a ghost in your photos - it has happened! Cryptids, cottagecore, and crystals - oh my! Definitely worth the trip up...

Happened upon this gem today while exploring West Jefferson during the festival. The painted sayings all over the dimly lit red stairs captured our attention ("thieves will be cursed!") and we fell in love with the awesome shoppe at the top of the stairs!! Great music playing (anywhere rocking Ghost has my vote!) and a wonderfully unique assortment of the odd, unusual, Macabre, mysterious, and more. We picked up a stained glass piece and could easily have spent far more. The owner is very sweet and clearly loves what she does. We will absolutely come back to GSG soon- hopefully we'll be able to try the escape...

This is my 21st escape room. I've done them all from homegrown to high end to chains. This one is great. The shop owner works very hard at theme and decor. The puzzles were challenging without so many red herrings to make you crazy. She had many things that I hadn't seen in other rooms. We loved it. There were only two of us and we did get out....after exactly one hour. We did her last room a year ago with four of us and got out a little faster. For $15 it's also the best deal in town. ...
