We came here Black Friday, primarily because my daughter has a medical issue requiring her to follow a strict vegan diet. We told her we had seen impossible burgers on the menu previously and she was THRILLED to have a local place with a good vegan option. She and my wife both ordered the Impossible (shown on the menu with the TM trademark symbol). When the food came she took one bite and opened her bun and said, "this is not an impossible burger". Being vegan, she immediately said "it's a black bean burger" which she does not like. We told the waiter, but he just kept insisting it was a vegan burger (not the point). I spoke to the manager on the way out that you cannot have Impossible burger on menu and then cheap out and serve a black bean burger- like selling a craft beer and serving a budweiser. He agreed that he has changed to using the black bean burgers but has not had a chance to update menu. I told him the server should at least know to tell you when you order. He didn't seem to care, or to understand that, TO MY VEGAN DAUGHTER, this was a huge deal. Very disappointed in the place that we have enjoyed visiting over the last couple years. Really makes you wonder, are the other things like Wagyu burgers and craft beers really what they say...
Read moreOnly lacking 1 star due to its newness.. I tried the Double IPA, the Saison and the Peach Trippel. My wife had the Farmhouse (saison) and all of them were spectacular. Doc is a long time home brewer and his son now whisks the wert. Let me tell you, if you like good beer WITH depth, then come here and have a few. If you like Miller and Budweiser then maybe come here and upscale your taste buds a bit. We had some wings and the burnt end sandwich. Both were very good. I would have liked a hotter option for the wings though. They change their menu every day (crazy right?) but that ensures you are getting the freshest ingredients and not something that has been in the cooler for 9 days. This is the locals place and nowhere near as loud and obnoxious as Boondocks. They are in the growing stages as they have only been open for a short time but I guarantee you they are in WJ to stay. I cant wait to get back and go again. We tried a flight of NRB beers and while sitting at the bar spoke to a family that had the pimento cheese dip, the bacon wrapped brussels and some loaded hot chips (homemade chips with cheese and pulled pork) and they couldn't stop talking about all of them. If they run out of something, try something else! Have a great beer and...
Read moreWe had a slight hiccup upon first arriving. We just followed someone in and did not realize there was another door we were supposed to go in to see the hostess, a lot of breweries are sometimes seat yourselves so we just really didn’t think much of it. But we had a waitress approach us and ask if she could help us, I mentioned taking a 4 person table that just emptied as the other tables left were for bigger groups. She said we needed to see the hostess but from my POV I didn’t know where that was and she didn’t guide us, just walked off. Anyways, as we finally got directed to the hostess I hear her behind the bar gossiping with other waiters and waitresses about how we were just going to walk in and take a table, immediately had multiple eyeballs on me. All for a rather simple mistake. We got seated and ended up getting approached by the manager who unfortunately had to deal with my now pissed off attitude but she understood my frustration and from there the rest of the night went fine. The waiter we had was a very nice young man, very attentive and super sweet. So glad we got him!!!! Their food was really really good. We didn’t get to stay long thanks to a super tired toddler but albeit the starting hiccup, I’d go back...
