Cedar’s Mediterranean Food Market — Local services in West Melbourne

If you're looking for authentic middle eastern groceries, I think this is your place. Full disclosure: I'm not middle eastern, and not knowledgeable on their groceries. But I lacked variety for my Easter dinner, and Cedar's was open on Easter Sunday. Very friendly proprietor answered all of my questions. Bottom line, I got to sample new foods I've never had before, including a potato filled bread which was very good (though quite spicy) and chick peas in a hard candied nougat that were really tasty. Another sweet dish was similar to baklava except made with crushed coconut. Honestly I like it better than baklava. The proprietor thanked me graciously and wished me a Happy Easter, and I thanked him for being open on what looked like a slow Sunday. Melbourne needs to support small indie...

Such a hidden gem! I usually have to drive all the way to Orlando to find Persian groceries, but this little market has saved me the trip! While it’s a Mediterranean blend, they carry quite a few Persian essentials—and I’m so grateful for that. The owner is incredibly sweet and helpful. The store is small and a little tight on space, but their selection is huge and well-stocked. For mainly imported goods, the prices are very reasonable. It’s only about 10 minutes from home, and having a place like this nearby takes the stress out of running out of essentials. So thankful this...

A gem of a store with a family approach! My mom and I have been shopping at this store since the day it opened. Every time we go in we are treated like family and it feels like the owner build a community around its store. He always makes recommendations for products and always has fresh and high quality products. We have purchased everything from spices, to sweets to olives, cheese and many others.
