It had been several years since my last visit, and it will be several more (if ever) before my next visit as the food was very underwhelming and the service equally underwhelming. It wasn't very busy when I arrived, so I was seated quickly, but that's pretty much where the prompt service ended. I sat there for just shy of fifteen minutes before the server showed up to take my drink order. She returned several minutes later with the drink and to take my food order. I ordered a cup of clam chowder, the conch fritter appetizer, and the Shrimp Trio. After waiting another fifteen minutes or so after placing my order, the clam chowder arrived. The clam chowder was very good and had very good flavor. Most clam chowders are mostly potatoes and a little bit of clam. This clam chowder was mostly clams and a little bit of potato, so that was nice. Waiting for another fifteen to twenty minutes after the clam chowder arrived, the conch fritters finally arrived. This was after the server stopped at the table twice to tell me "two more minutes and your conch fritters will be ready." The portion size was great (10 fritters) and the flavor of the fritters and the dipping sauce was very good. The only complaint was they needed to be cooked just a little bit longer as the batter in the middle of each fritter was still quite gooey. Waiting another twenty minutes or so after the conch fritter arrived, the entree finally arrived. This too was after the server informed me a few times "two more minutes, two more minutes." The Shrimp Trio... I'll start with the positive part... so the portion size was good, the rice was flavorful and moist, and the steamed veg was good. But the "star of the dish," the shrimp, well... to be blunt, they were nasty. For being a seafood restaurant, the quality of their shrimp was no better than any cheap low-quality frozen shrimp you can get a Walmart. Neither of the three shrimp preparations had any flavor and the texture of all of the shrimp was very rubbery - just as you'd expect from low-quality frozen shrimp. When you consider the amount of shrimp you get in the three different preparations (about two dozen in all) and the $16.99 price of the dish - clearly, they're not using quality shrimp. So to sum it up; if you're looking for at least decent seafood, you'd be much better off driving past Shell's and going to Red Lobster located a mile to the west of Shell's.

Not a place we will try again. We were seated quickly and the waitress Annie was pleasant and amicable. We ordered the Calamari as an appetizer, two side salads (one Ceasar and one House) and the Langostino Pasta. To start our side salads arrived before the appetizer. The Ceasar was acceptable, not overly dressed but the house had a few pieces of salad that should have been removed. The appetizer arrived next and looked dry and was chewy, it was returned. The Langostino Pasta arrived quickly after the appetizer. It looked inviting. The best part was the al dente linguine, the sauce had good flavor but was thin and the the fat had partially separated. The Langostino part had the sweet taste as promised but again it was overcooked and was on the chewy side of tender. For a restaurant with 4+ stars we left disappointed. How can a place that features seafood over cook both seafood elements we ordered? The prices were reasonable if they would pay more attention to the cooking it would be a bargain.

I was in town on business for ten days and looking for a recommended place for seafood. I got many recommendations for Shells. I ended up eating there five times! Grouper sandwich, coconut shrimp with a remarkable chutney like dipping sauce made of orange marmalade and horseradish and pineapple juice. Had that twice as an appetizer and once as an entree. Also had there special for the season cajun shrimp, clams, scallops with a hint of heat over linguine. Oh my gosh! The service was perfect every time as I asked to be seated at Michelle’s station and what a memory that lady has! I rated the atmosphere as a four star because the quality of the food and presentation bespeaks of a high end establishment but they have chosen a much more relaxed motif and atmosphere. Just seemed a little incongruous to me but not off putting enough to keep me away! I thought of adding a picture but only after I’d had a few bites that couldn’t wait. Love the place for lunch and dinner!

Thank you Gio and Michelle, awesome kindness, friendliness and best service. Best seafood in our area. Before I begin, I'm allergic to shrimp but both these dishes come with shrimp(just not mine) Ok,,,Bowl of Cioppino awesome, sauce is flavorful, lots of scallops, fish, clams, mussels with crab legs thrown in,, mm mmm, Seafood pasta, lovely scallops, chopped clams, mussels in their cream sauce which is light and tasty mm mmm good! I added ceasar salad for only $2.49, their dressing is so good. Mussels appetizer is abundant and delicious! Don't forget the toast to dip into the extra sauce. Oh and my oh my,,,the hushpuppies are the best ever,, a must have,,,and here's a little hint,,,save some and sprinkle sugar on them for dessert! Happy hour 4-6 with specials and lunch menu till 4. Great food, great prices, lovely people. ❤😊❤

The BEST seafood experience I've EVER had! And I've traveled a LOT! Everything was perfection and clearly homemade, with LOVE! My husband and I were in Florida (from Jersey) for a memorial service and decided to try Shells on our way to the airport. First, you MUST start with their AWARD WINNING clam chowder - you'll want to take a bucket home. Then we ordered the clam strips that were so plump and perfectly seasoned and the fish and chips. The chips are freshly cut, and fried to perfection, the cod was BIG juicy and flaky and freshly battered to order! Even their iced tea and lemonade was delicious! Oh and the coleslaw...had mandarin oranges in it! We were like " This looks crazy" But when I tell you it was EVERYTHING! Baby just go! Run and take all your friends.
