I'm irritated. I came here once before and no issue. This time I made an appt last week for my mom and me to come today at 8:30. I even called the day before to verify the time. Got there and only one person in the back who asked me what I was getting and said the people were coming. Waited for 45 mins until the two women came and we told them what we wanted which was large box braids for my mom cut short [shoulder length) and I wanted boho island twist large. Was quoted 120 for my mom and 150 for myself plus an extra $50 for the human hair. Cool. This was the quote over the phone! Show the ladies the pictures of my mom hair (box braids) and then she goes oh I can't do those. U would have to wait until another person comes in to do it. Like what? We already waited 45 minutes! My mom said fine just do large individuals cut SHORT! NEEDLESS to say her hair was medium knotless and down to her butt. My mom asked the lady to cut them by then she already curled the tips and she cut it mid way to her back and my mom was like no it needs to be cut shorter. This lady said oh no and said that's its and took off the cape and walked away. Then my mom gave her the $120 and she was like no $ 140. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You come 45 mins late. Don't start until 9:30 then can't do the intended hairstyle then get asked to do another hairstyle and want to do it wrong and quote a higher price? Haha. My mom gave jusy gave her the extra 20 and left. Now, for me, told them what I already asked for and they going to try and charge me $240. I said um no I was already quoted 150 plus 50. They called the boss lady or whoever on the phone and she confirmed the quote I was quoted from her and instructed them on the hair color. After they hung up the phone, those two hairdresser complained and complained loudly. Unprofessional. The lady did my hair wrong which I never seen until I got in the car after I took a quick glance at the mirror. I asked for 1b for the braiding hair and 4 for the highlighted human hair. She did one twist 1b and one twist 4 in that sequence throughout the whole head. I gave her the $200 and left. The place was dirty. They didn't clean it from the day before because hair was all over the floor, dirty, used water bottles. The combs and brushes are disgusting. I will never come here again. Just because they quote you cheaper doesn't mean it's quality work. I am only giving this a 2 star rating and not a 1 because the lady on the phone was nice when making the appointment and talking to her but other than that nope. My mom is celebrating her 65th birthday this weekend and don't even have the hairstyle she wanted so now I have to get some rubber bands and cut her hair that just got done to a bob because they couldn't do a simple task. BTW they didn't even cut the hair that was sticking out the platts to make it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve come to Supreme Hair Braiding before and was happy with the results, so I returned to get my hair done for graduation pictures, thinking Iād be in good hands. While they do great work when it comes to the finished style, this particular experience left me feeling really disrespected and uncomfortable.
From the beginning, things were off. I paid an extra $15 for a hair wash, which was rushedāno conditioner, barely cleaned, and I could still feel buildup on my scalp after the blow-dry. That alone felt disappointing, especially when youāre paying for a service meant to prep your hair.
During the braiding process, I noticed inconsistent braid sizesāsome were noticeably smaller or larger than others. I politely asked the manager (the only person who spoke English) to let the stylist know, but instead of resolving it calmly, they laughed, spoke in another language, and then half-heartedly tried to āfixā it while brushing off my concerns. They refused to go back and make the braids uniform, even when I explained I wanted it corrected.
What really got to me was the attitude. I was met with teeth-sucking, door-slamming, and general hostility just for trying to communicate and get what I was paying for. I also had to repeatedly request help just to get my part centeredāsomething that couldāve been resolved without three people storming into the back room like I had caused a problem. It was aggressive, embarrassing, and honestly unnecessary.
At one point, I lifted my head due to a migraine Iāve been dealing with, and the stylist sucked her teeth and pushed my head forward. That felt extremely disrespectful to me. She didnāt need my head to be down at that pointāshe was braiding down the top of my headāso I lifted it back up. That moment really stayed with me because it just showed a lack of care or empathy.
Also, my parts are inconsistent. The ones in the back are bigger and the ones at the top are smaller. Iām not super pressed about that, but combined with everything else, it just didnāt feel worth the $215 I paid. The service, the way they treat youāit just wasnāt it. Iām a paying customer, not someone getting their hair done for free, so Iām going to be specific about what I want. That should be respected.
If this is how they treat clientsātalking about you in another language, getting annoyed when you speak up, and being generally dismissiveāthen I honestly wouldnāt recommend going here. If youāre looking for a salon that will actually treat you kindly and listen without attitude, this is not the place. Not to mention that I drive almost...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOk here's the thing. I don't hate my hair. It's fine for what it is. The only thing is that I asked for brown knotless, and got jet black instead.
I had made an appointment at 11:30am. I called the shop and said I was running a bit late but would be there by 11:40. The woman on the phone said actually come at 12. I said ok cool I'll take my time. I ended stopping for a quick coffee and arriving at 11:50. Then I waited. I don't actually get seated until after 1. I get assigned to the older woman near the door. I tell her I want brown knotless and show her a picture of #2 AND #4 braids and say i think im leaning towards #4. She said fine but immediately gets started braiding. She doesnt show me any colors and is clearly using jet black hair. I say hey this isn't the color I want. She tries to gaslight me into thinking that the hair is brown by saying it's the lighting. I said I want #4 because that's too dark. She sucks her teeth and ignores me. I literally begged her 4 times for her to change the color. "Please, please change the color. I'm too light skinned for jet black. It won't look right". she continued to try to manipulate and lie and suck her teeth and have an attitude. By the time the owner comes over. I tell her as well. Hey this isn't brown. She admits it's not but says well your hair is dark enough. It blends well and she already started. What made it worse is that it was clear she was talking bad about me because when she began talking very loudly in her language she was pointing to the hair she was using for my braids and sucking her teeth. The owner laughed.
It was VERY obvious I was upset because even other customers asked me if I was ok. I was obviously not going to get what I wanted. I should have just left, but I really needed my hair done.
It took over 7 hours. The woman took 4 breaks while doing my hair. Hey, she's older that's fine, I won't criticize her for needing a break, but she is obviously one of the slower braiders as well. In the time, it took her to finish my hair, another women finished 4 with similar styles. 1 of which had a similar length (I have long hair)
Overall, I was disappointed by the experience, the customer service,...
