They had the BEST prices on produce. For example, fresh herbs are just $1, lemons and limes are about 1/3 the cost of chain stores, etc. You can get so much more food. However, it doesn't usually last a long time so you need to eat it right away.
The meat section has untypical types of cuts like organs, feet, etc. so I usually buy my meat elsewhere. But, if you're looking for fish, they have a decent selection that is very affordable and fresh, typically better than chain stores. The fish mongers do the best job in town cleaning and scaling - way better than Wegmans.
They have the bare bones of cheese American cooks use, and a lot more Mexican varieties.
Canned items and other staples are usually more expensive there. However, you can get a great deal on spices.
If you're an American cook, I suggest starting your shopping here and going elsewhere for anything else you need. It may take a little more time but you won't believe the savings so...
Read moreThis place is a 50/50 .. mostly well stocked ... some items arent worth the money you pay for them.. stay away from the freezer section stuff ..its truly trash.. you pay a premium for all name brands on top of the already high price for things like oreos.. doritos..organic milk.. The deli is the best part of this place. Nice ladies.. will give you samples and offer suggestions on cheeses and lunch meats then cut them just to your liking bread is available for hoagies which I love to buy things in places that make sense if I'm buying 2 lbs of lunch meat and a half lb. Of cheese why do I need to go to the other side of the store for hoagie bread? I dont trust the bakery no matter how good it smells it doesnt look appetizing to me or appear to be made for anyone non-Mexican. Its. A basic grocery store I go to out of convenience. Their produce section offers a great...
Read moreNot so great experience in the recent past. Vegetables bought were stale when cut open. The last time, I visited they clearly had strawberries on sale for 99 c/ box, seeing it on sale, I picked a couple of boxes. Thankfully noticed that an employee changed the price slip, higher priced, near the strawberries( it was middle of the day, so really the change was effective there and then). The signage board that is placed high up when one enters the store lot, also boasted of strawberries being 99 cents. Just to be safe double checked the price of the strawberries at the cash register, as I had bought more boxes, just because it was on sale. Surprisingly the cashier said that it rang at higher price. Which store changes the price of a product middle of the day? Wherein the price of a product changes between pick up and walking to...
