Never had an issue until tonight. They were here last night to address no heat. The technician 'fixed' the problem but this morning no heat again. I called service and they scheduled a service call for between 3 and 6 pm tonight. I made arrangements with my employer to leave early to be available for technician. At 1:37 pm the technician from last night called to 'follow-up' and stated he had seen that another call for service was dispatched. He asked if I was home, I said no, service was scheduled between 3 and 6 pm. I asked him if he was assigned the call and was early. He stated no. As 6pm approached I called service to see if they were running late. The person answering the phone stated I missed my appointment with the guy who called at 1:37 pm. Huh? Long term customer ( since July 2006) without heat x2 days...and they can't even figure out how to dispatch within assigned time slots and to add insult to injury, the service call person tonight was beyond pompous. I rearranged my work day to accommodate Petro, to no avail, obviously. No one appreciates being talked over and dismissed. I will honor my contract with Petro this year, but will not be returning as a customer after this season. Now me and my very cold four dogs wait for new scheduled time slot...

Do not use Petro. This company is objectively horrendous and doesn't care about their customers:
1 - Petro let my family go cold 3 times this past winter because they let my oil tank run empty and were "too busy" to refill it. (Which is literally what I'm paying them for) 2 - In December 2024, Petro hired negligent contractors to replace my oil tank. These contractors flooded my basement, and I never got so much as an apology from Petro. 3 - Petro raised my heating oil rates without notice this year, and will do the same to you.
This is a bad company, and I hope they go out of business. I cancelled my Petro service this week and it was objectively delightful to tell them, "Good riddance."

Read moreThey do not return phone calls. Very long wait times to speak to a live agent. Marcel in the billing department was no help. I called to get a copy of my billing statment emailed to me since i could not access my account online. They said that they would send me my billing statement after we hung up the phone and never did. This happened seveal times. Finally, after several weeks of calls and almost demanding them to take payment over the phone they did but ended up overcharging my credit card by $300. I tried to dispute the charge by calling them again but again this time I was told I needed to speak with a supervisor and they are not available and would need to call me back. I am still waiting for a phone call. I would never recommend this company as their billing department...
