I had a 7:09 pm flight from Sacramento to Seattle. Military duty ran late today and I had a late start coming from Fairfield to Sacramento. I was unable to check in my luggage bag so I had to take my carry on and luggage through the security check point. I had an exercise tool to treat chronic elbow pain from years of military duty medial epicondylitis. A young Asian male pulled it out of my luggage and had to confiscate it which I understand as a he deemed it a weapon. No arguments there however, I did miss my fight because he took so long going to his boss coming back and taking his sweet time repacking my luggage. When I came back to the exact same check point within 5 minutes at the most. I explained that I had missed my flight. I wasn't mad at the young man. I simply stated that I had to get a different flight, would be exiting the terminal and checking in my bag with delta now. He wasn't able to return my exercise tool and when I asked for the procedure on how to retrieve my property. He was unable to give me an adequate answer as he stumbled upon his words and looked around nervously. I could tell he was extremely new to his job and highly untrained. Unacceptable. I was in my military uniform, traveling for official government duty. It's hard to stay in decent shape traveling and working out in hotels. I do what I have to do. I couldn't understand why he couldn't return what he had literally just confiscated from me knowing that I would be exiting the air port boarding gates to the air line luggage check in. I understand that TSA is there to protect those flying however, It wasn't busy at all when I returned. This individual could have simply retrieved my item and escorted me out of the terminal. Again I emphasize that the terminal checkin point for Alaska airlines was not busy at all during this time. This young man knows who I am as I was in uniform and I saw him twice during his shift on Sunday December 8th, 2024. I would appreciate it if TSA could reach out to me and ship my property to my current residence. As I came back within 5 minutes. Of having my property confiscated. I gave this individual no grief nor did I display any hostility, a bad attitude or lack of respect for his authority as a TSA worker just doing his job. It was most definitely overkill and extremely unprofessional of this young man not to not know the process of how I could get my belonging back as it was not a weapon even though he considered it one. I missed my flight because of his unprofessionalism and was literally walking out of the terminal to catch a different flight with a different airline as his laxidasical working speed played a significant part in me missing my flight. I have very expensive shoes for flat feet and expensive insoles to go with it which I packed in a very particular way to protect my brooks GTS 23 shoes. These were damaged. When I checked into my delta to go home. These TSA workers at Sacramento Airport did not need to unpack my bag or pull anything out. I was mishandled by the young Asian Male TSA worker coming though my initial flight for my 7:09 pm Alaska flight...

I recently had the pleasure of traveling through Sacramento International Airport, and I must say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The airport's efficient layout, excellent services, and friendly staff made my journey seamless and enjoyable.
From the moment I entered the airport, I was impressed by the cleanliness and organization.
The terminal itself is well-designed, providing a pleasant environment with ample seating, natural light, and a variety of dining and shopping options. I appreciated the airport's commitment to cleanliness, especially during these times, as I noticed the staff actively maintaining hygiene standards throughout the facility. The Samson Luggage Sculpture at Sacramento International Airport is a distinctive and captivating work of art composed of more than 700 individual pieces of luggage. Situated in the baggage claim area at Terminal A, this remarkable sculpture reaches a height of 23 feet. The luggage integrated into the sculpture spans from the early 20th century to the contemporary era, symbolizing the entirety of the period during which air travel has been achievable.
Sacramento International Airport also excels in providing clear signage, making it easy for passengers to navigate the airport and locate their gates without confusion. The boarding process was smooth, and the boarding staff were attentive and organized.
In conclusion, Sacramento International Airport exceeded my expectations in terms of efficiency, cleanliness, and overall passenger experience. Whether you're a frequent flyer or a first-time traveler, this airport provides a top-notch experience that sets the standard for air travel. I highly recommend Sacramento International Airport and look forward to flying through it again...
Read moreLived here for over 12 years, fly out of Sac many times but this is my first time using the east economic parking lot as the main parking is full. This is an unexpected experience. The bus/shuttle is not working properly. So advice here: add 1 hour if you are planning on using the east economic parking!
We and other two groups were waiting at the bus stop for over 20min, there are 5 buses pass by, 4 drop off only, 1 out of service. When we finally get on one, it is so full that it has to skip all later stations, which are full of people waiting in line (sad for them). Pathetically, as we drive towards the terminal, there are people walking along the road with their luggage (probably give up after long wait and probably late for their flight).
Whoever is managing the operation of those buses is inadequate and unqualified. The entire experience shows the people who is managing of this operation doesn’t care about anything, or doesn’t have the brian to design a more efficient way. I mean, it should not be that hard….as I’ve been through quite a few airports and never had any issues with in airport ground transportation. It is a time sensitive business, people are there for catching a flight. We don’t have all day to wait. And what’s the sense to have so many buses do drop off only? Isn’t pick up the number 1 important thing ???
Plus the driver is really enjoy his day and stops at any chance he can stop…luckily we still made the flight. But 5 buses pass by and we can’t get on any of them...
