Famous Famiglia — Restaurant in California

I’ve eaten at many Famous Famiglia Pizzerias in many airports around the country. THIS ONE has gone way downhill since it’s recent renovation. I don’t know if it was a change in management or driven by SMF Airport requirements, but menu choices have shrunk considerably - only salads, bread knots, pizza, and Stromboli adorn the board now - and they run short of items during normal business times. The number of frontline employees has diminished and their attitudes, in general, need a little adjustment to the good.

The last five or six times I visited, there was no Stromboli, which is sad because their chicken Parmesan Stromboli is the best and other FFP’s don’t offer this particular flavor. This time (6:00 PM!), there were no bread knots or Stromboli (I didn’t see any salads, though I didn’t ask) and the manager said there were no plans to make any because of manning. Yet he was out front, taking orders and serving, when he could have been making more.

Until the manager came out front, there was only a cashier and a pizza maker visible, where - in the past - a third employee took and prepared orders so the other two could concentrate on their specific tasks. The current manning situation causes long lines and...

We stopped here during a layover, and needed a quick bite to eat. We ended up getting a spinach stromboli, pepperoni stromboli, and a 10-piece garlic knots. I absolutely loved how garlicky all of the foods were, but be aware if you are not a fan of garlic. They cut up fresh garlic cloves and use lots of butter, which tasted good to me before a long flight. The spinach stromboli was extremely cheesy, and had a great flavor, and they threw in some extra garlic knots, so we had many more than just 10. My husband dipped his pepperoni stromboli in their marinara, and had no complaints. I didn't try their marinara, because I could envision it spilling down my outfit and just didn't want to deal with that, but the food still tasted great even with no sauce. as soon as I walked up the girl by the name of Porsha had a rude attitude early in the morning just asked what are you having!! then I just moved on to the next guy to help me so I ordered my bagel extra toasted and waited for it to get toasted then I seen Porsha just got my bagel and gave it to a new customer who just ordered a bagel and she knew that she didn't put that bagel in and just gave it to him so I asked the guy who was helping me and he just put a new one in and wanted me to wait not him or her even apologized I recommend no one go there to waste your time buying food there look at there over all review they suck and all have rude attitudes there please stay away and just go else where ill be going back to Starbucks, they need to fire Porsha and the sorry manager and start with a new crew I fly every month out of there ill see if...
