This happened in JUNE and I still haven’t been able to forget this encounter. I love Squeeze Burgers and have enjoyed them at a few of their locations. Here though? No food was enjoyed, and the staff were straight-up nasty. My partner and I had 25 minutes until boarding, and thought that was plenty of time to get some fast food. We waited (no exaggeration) 20 mins to get two crispy chicken sandwiches. We didn’t order fries or drinks. Just two crispy chicken sandwiches. The kitchen is completely visible, right behind the counter, and it was like observing sloths at the zoo, only NOT cute.
When we had less than five minutes left to start boarding, we went to the counter to see if our order would be ready soon.
Big mistake. Before we said a single word, a woman in the kitchen rolled her eyes so far into her head it was like The Exorcist and told us, “YoU cAn’T dO tHat”, pointing to the touchscreen pos system.
I said we had already ordered, we have to leave to catch our plane, will our food be ready within five minutes? She asked our order number and looked at the ticket and told us no. She could only give us grilled chicken sandwiches. What? I asked why can’t we get the ones we ordered. She lifted her arms and bellowed, “because we have to COOK it for you, we can’t just serve it to you RAW!!”
And I’m thinking, why don’t you just cook it then??? It made no sense whatsoever, obviously a grilled chicken sandwich needs to be cooked too??? She was so smug, delighting in the fact that we are apparently IDIOTS because we… asked for the food we had ordered and paid for. After waiting 20 minutes. For two sandwiches. At an airport. Where people have places to be.
Obviously, we weren’t going to reason with a psycho and said we would need a refund then. She proceeded to argue that it would take just as long to get a manager for a refund as it would to cook the sandwiches. But not the sandwiches we ordered. Different sandwiches.
None of this makes any sense. Finally, a manager was conjured and the refund issued. He offered no contrition and seemed confused, like he didn’t even know why he was there. We were one of the last to board but we made our flight just in time.
What’s up with this business?? I’ve never been bullied by a business’s staff members before in my life. They were literally trying to steal our lunch money. It’s extremely shady and I genuinely question Squeeze Burgers’ legitimacy. The worst part is I can never eat another Squeeze Burger again!! Even if it were perfect, this experience left an indelible impression that would make...
Read moreIt’s AI self served to order. I couldn’t tell that nobody was there. I placed my order and never saw anybody and couldn’t hear any cooking. Other people were already waiting. One of them was an airport employee. I started saying hello, hello and was just looking around when, finally a young woman walked up and asked what’s ups and I said is there anybody working here? I told her I placed an order a while ago and other people had placed orders as well. She said she has to leave during her shift often and has no idea how long she’s gonna be gone and she turned away. There was more people that she turned away, than she served. She didn’t apologize for it being unattended to her work site and actually was a little upset people wanted assistance. Had I known how to get a refund from the AI register, I would have. I was trying to find somebody for 20 mins. Other people that were waiting to order, over head her and just left, after she told them I have to leave and have no idea how long I will be gone This is the Sacramento airport where people are catching planes and needing to be served. I will pass next time on 2 things. 1) AI ordering and 2) #SqueezeBurger at the Terminal A, at the...
Read moreThis was one of few options available at Terminal A at the Sacramento airport. I got the fried chicken sandwich ($11.50) and my partner got the squeeze burger ($13). We both added fries ($7.50/each). So it was quite expensive for what it was.
Service was quick we waited maybe 5 minutes. My fried Chicken Sandwich was very good. The fries were a little soggy. The experience that was the most annoying/disappointing was that you had to ask for napkins and condiments. They rationed these quite tightly, so I had to ask for ketchup on two different occasions.
Having a station with all condiments and napkins that is self serve would be a welcome addition. Consider lowering prices for French fries. I’d probably skip the friends next time- they weren’t very good and they were expensive and I did t get enough ketchup- kind of the source of most of my...
