I have really low expectations for airport restaurants. I expect them to be overpriced, high volume cafeteria quality and slow service at best. Cafeteria 15L was a pleasant surprise
Service & Ambiance: There's a full sized rectangular bar and plenty of seats surrounding the area. Every seat gives you a good view of the multiple flat screens. Contemporary design and lighting make for a nice dining environment I wouldn't expect at an airport. The sign says seat yourself and I'm all for that at airport restos as long as a server comes around quickly. I had a server swing by immediately to get my breakfast burrito and IPA order in at 10:30 AM. No judging, I had a designated pilot. =) The burrito was at the table in under 15 minutes and they kept the IPAs flowing as I watched the Chargers/Ravens playoff game. When you settle the bill, they bring a mobile credit card processing unit to your table which makes it easy for everyone. Pretty good service overall.
Breakfast Burrito: Small in size for the price ($14) but well prepared and tasty, I was impressed. Eggs, meat, and cheese were put together very well in this burrito.
Overall, this was a positive dining experience for me. If this outside an airport it's 3 stars based off the price alone but they're definitely above average for airport restos in my opinion. If you happen to be in Terminal B and have time to kill over a beer, some food and lots of flat screens with charging stations at the bar, Cafeteria 15L has you covered. ...
Read moreThey sat us at a dirty table. I'm not talking about a couple of missed crumbs. There was a straw wrapper and a pile of sauteed onions and red bell peppers left over even though there were some clean tables available. It also took them a while to clean it off, leaving us standing there for a bit. When they did clean the table a lot of the food was flung off, some landing on our bags.
A bit later I saw the hostess seat another party at a dirty table, using the menus in her hand to swipe off a couple of crumbs off the table (and then giving the menus to the customers) but still leaving behind residue. It may not be part of her duties to clean but she should've communicated these issues to the bussing staff.
The waiter was personable and took our orders quickly and served drinks promptly.
The kitchen felt like they took forever. We ordered a sandwich and burger, both with fries. Saw another table who was seated after us get their sandwich first, which is a bit aggravating.
When the food did come sandwich was lukewarm and they took off cheese from the incorrect order, leaving the lactose intolerant with a surprise. They didn't forget homemade pickles though and they were fantastic. The fries were also piping hot which explains some of the wait.
Overall frustrating and disappointing experience. If this is at all indicative of what experience would be at their chain, then I suggest spending your time and money elsewhere. Maybe a McDonald's--at least they have more than...
Read moreI ate lunch at bar today. Granted, tge place was busy, BUT…the servers were not communicating with the bar tenders and orders were going to the wrong patrons…The tried to serve me my odere literally 30 seconds after I ordered it…tgey acknowledged that and got it to the right patrons. 20 minutes later they gave MY order to the patron next to me who ordered hers just a minutes before she ordered. She was not as understanding. I pointed the mistake out to the bartenders who told me I was wrong. Wouldnt you know, after my oder finally came up tgey attempted to deliver the patron next me, her order…AGAIN. LOL…clearly they had no situaltional awareness of what was going on…..ok so why the 1star review? I am very understanding that when its busy mistakes are made but when the bartending crew is aggressively non-friendly, moribund (read complete lack of affect), and basically just slinging drinks and food and not caring, that’s when I get a bit disappointed. Great service with a smile regardless of how busy it is costs nothing. It’s what true professional bar tenders do. Bottom line…..don’t come here...
