I own a 2018 Chevy Tahoe that is 5 years old with 93,972 miles. I bought it used from Morrie’s West Salem Kia. I have owned it for 1.5 years. I noticed that all of the rocker panels have significant rust or are rusted through. According to the GM Rust Warranty, rust repair is covered for 6 years or up to 100,000 miles. My Tahoe qualifies under both. Took it to Morrie's West Salem Chevrolet in West Salem, WI to look at rust. I was referred for an estimate for a preliminary repair estimate which totaled $9,530.19. I emailed Morrie's asking for an update, his reply said they had to get Morrie's Regional GM rep involved to see if it's covered under warranty. I asked Tyler for the contact info for the GM rep. I received no reply. I emailed Tyler two more times and one phone call. He told me that he would have the Service Manager call me. Josh called me to tell me that GM will cover 50% of repair cost and I was responsible for the other 50%. This had me questioning things. I requested to have it in writing from GM stating that I was responsible for paying 50% of the repair work. I called Josh and left a voicemail with my concerns. He emailed me back still saying we have to pay 50% of repairs and that there was nothing he could do about it. I sent the repair estimate to another GM Dealership in the area for a second opinion. Side-note…this dealership ran the VIN and told me it was involved in an accident prior to me buying it. This was interesting because when I was looking at it before buying it, I asked the salesman to see the Carfax. He told me that he had looked at it and the were no accidents. He never did show me the Carfax report. I went to Morrie’s, in-person, and asked to speak with Josh Smith. I told him that I needed it in writing stating that GM would only cover 50% of the repair work and that I am responsible for the other 50%. He told me that it would be difficult to get that in writing because that's what GM told him on the phone, but he would try. I took my Tahoe to the other local Dealership that I sent the estimate to. It is 76 miles from where I live (3 hour drive, round-trip). They took one look at it on the hoist, showed me and told me that it is fully covered under the warranty and there is no need to get it approved by GM first. On that same day, I emailed Josh again (third time now) asking for the GM response in writing. No response. I scheduled the repair work at the other GM dealership. I was not asked to pay one cent for the repair work. I would like to express my EXTREME anger and disappointment with Morrie’s West Salem Chevrolet in West Salem, WI. My husband and I have been dedicated Chevy buyers from that dealership for the past 30+ years. The fact that I bought that vehicle from them and the rust and prior accident was not mentioned at the time of purchase is concerning. Was it even inspected? The fact that Morrie’s LIED to me several times and to my face, telling me that I had to pay for half of the repair makes me FURIOUS! Their customer service is a disgrace, not returning my calls or emails. I am done purchasing ANY vehicle from this dealership ever again. The company I work for has been made aware of this situation. They have purchased and had company fleet vehicles serviced there. They have spent thousands of dollars in vehicles and maintenance there. Not anymore. Those cars are now being serviced by another dealership. I am letting EVERYONE that I know aware of how I was treated and how Morrie’s tried scamming me! The more people I talk to, the more similar stories I hear. We live in a small town and word-of-mouth travels fast here. Morrie’s reputation has gone...
Read moreNothing but problems and terrible customer service. We purchased a new trailblazer from morries chevy in sparta and had to take it in for warranty work for a on star module that had failed. In order to replace the module they had to tear apart the entire dash. In the process of doing this they gouged and scratched the dash components very badly and then dropped it back off to us like it was all OK. Credit to spartas service manager as he addressed the situation and ordered new parts and replaced the parts that they messed up. He even gave us a gift certificate to use for future services. A short while after they replaced the dash the molding around the stereo started peeling and looked terrible. My wife again spoke to sparta chevy and was instructed to take it to morries in west salem and they would do a oil change and replace the dash piece that was peeling. Took it to west salem and dropped it off for them to look at and change oil as we had a trip to milwaukee and needed it changed before we left. When we were called to pick it up we were told it was ready and someone would call when the part came in to schedule getting it replaced. Upon driving home realized they never even changed the oil. They kept the car overnight but never changed the oil like they were supposed to. Fast forward a couple months and we still never got a call that the part was in. My wife again called west salem and was told that the guy who was supposed to call wasn't doing his job and no longer worked there but the part was in and someone would call to schedule the repair. Another couple of months go buy and we still have not got any calls to get this fixed even though we were told the part was there. Not to mention when they finally did do the oil change a few days later we gave them the paperwork with service certificate from sparta chevy and they never gave the paperwork back they just claimed it was all used and that was that. This brings me to sparta ford and the quick lube. The oil change before west salem did there's was done at sparta ford and we used the service certificate from sparta chevy. They changed a 60$ cabin filter took it off the certificate and never even asked us if they could do it. We didn't notice until later as we were busy and hadn't got a chance to look at the papers. When we called and questioned them about it we were told that we should have said something before we left the quick lube if we had a problem. Ok yeah maybe we should have looked closer but we didn't assume we had to check to make sure they added parts that we didn't approve. Especially a 60$ filter I could have easily changed myself. The final issue that puts this all over the top is the last time sparta ford did a tire rotation they never reset the tire pressure in the car so when we had a low tire indicator and put air in the tire it wasn't even the right tire. When questioned they said because it's a chevy they didn't have the proper tool to reset them. SERIOUSLY are any of these locations competent? Still to this very day we have not got a call to replace the dash piece that is flaking paint. I can't find a number for corporate so I finally decided a bad review was the way to go. We have been more then understanding and patient and none of these locations seem to have any decent internal communication or...
Read moreI recently purchased a used vehicle from Brenengen Chevrolet in West Salem. The vehicle had an empty tank of gas when I test drive it and I cut my test drive short because of it. I decided to purchase the vehicle regardless. They said they would wash the vehicle and fill it up with gas before I took it home.
When they said they would fill the vehicle up with gas they must have meant they would fill it up to half. However I just spent a lot of money on a vehicle and I was not going to complain about 10 gallons of gas. I drove the vehicle home without issue.
The next day I start the vehicle and am greeted by a check engine light. The vehicle was still under warranty, so rather than drive it back to West Salem I took it to the Chevrolet dealership in my town. They check over the vehicle and discover that the fuel in the tank is E-85. This is not a flex-fuel vehicle. They further discover a disconnected air hose.
I will ignore the air hose for a second and discuss the fuel issue. When you spend a large sum of money on a used car it is reasonable to expect the dealership to send you off with a full tank of gas. Brenengen Chevrolet not only filled the tank halfway, they also tried to use a cheaper gas product that was not compatible with my vehicle. A half tank of E-85 cost the dealership about $27. A full tank of standard gasoline would have cost about $60. If a dealership is that concerned about saving $33 in gas you have to wonder where else they are cutting corners.
Now let's get back to the disconnected air hose. This disconnected hose was causing an "engine run lean" condition that triggered the check engine light. I will not claim that the dealership knew anything about it. It is possible that they were not aware of the issue. However if the vehicle was run for any length of time the check engine light would have come on.
After sorting out the air hose and the fuel issue the vehicle ran great, for about a week. Now the vehicle has a "Service Stabilitrak" error message whenever I make a right turn. Once again I have no evidence that the dealership knew about this issue. However I can't help thinking back to that test drive that was cut short. If I had been able to drive the vehicle for a little while longer would one of these issues have...
