THRIFTY PICKINS' & Buckies — Local services in West Salem

I just discovered this place for the first time last week. Today was my 2nd time there. I'm hooked. Not only is this a thrift store but when you shop there you get to choose from like 20 different non-profit organizations that gets points for what you spend there. At the end of the month the place you choose gets the points for your purchases and then they get cash donations based upon how many points they have. I've chosen to alternate between the veterans memorial fund and a veterans mentoring program. But they also have different programs to help pets and other groups. Everytime I go to this store I'm met with treasures both new and old. I've found items fort classroom, myself, family members there's really something for everyone. The new owners of the store are so kind and really happy to be apart of the community giving back and recycling old to them and new to you items from everywhere. Did I mention they also have vendors selling their own uniquely made items? When I say there's something for everyone that's truly an understatement...

First time visiting from Madison Wisconsin. Very well organized laid out sweet little surprise! Fantastic idea on chipping to your local charities. Thank you for this brilliant easy way to give back to your community. Prices were incredible with a nice variety of clothing for everyone of all ages. Housewares and accessories were also easy to see and displayed well. Great owner or sales lady upon checkout. A super pleasant surprise will definitely be back to hunt for...
