Paid $40 for silver hoop earrings here last fall and my wife wore them continuously. The clasp kept coming apart and she had them repaired several times in Florida. I finally brought them back to the Watch Hill store to see if possibly the original artisan could repair them. The man at the cash register took one look and said they were $20 earrings and not worth repairing. I said I paid $40 and he gave me some money and said now they’re $35 earrings. When I realized he only gave me $5, I just laughed and asked if that was all that he could do and he gave me another $5 and said under his breath “now get the f___ out of here” as I was leaving. I chose not to confront him as there were other customers in the store and it wasn’t worth it over, what were now, cheap earrings. The lesson here is you are buying over priced cheap jewelry because the store is in Watch Hill. I have lived here and known many Watch Hill merchants for over 40 years and found them to be reputable and honest. Not so...
