Poor Quality - Extremely Rude - Not Safe.... I usually don't even leave a review for places if they're below a 5 star but the owner/manager or this place went over and above to deserve this poor rating. You will see the photos of the sandwich I ordered which was suppose to be the Italian Grinder. You can see how pathetic the quality and amount of meat on this sandwich is for $10.75. Id get more of the same packaged deli meat at Subway as I did here. It was also missing onions, oil/vinegar and seasoning. So I went up to ask for onions and oil/vinegar. He asked me if I everything else was OK and i said, actually it's a bit on the skimpy side for the price but it is what it is. Not only did he approach the window without a mask, but he attempted to abruptly take the food away from my hands with no gloves to add the onions and seasoning - I said, you can just give them to me on the side. So he came out of the restaurant (with no mask nor gloves) and comes over to our table, slammed the container of onions on the table and said "Next time if you want onions, you need to ask." - I said, "it's on the menu that this comes with onions." Then he actually walked over to the window where the menu was, looked at it for a second, came back and says to me: "You should get your eyes checked, that menu does not say there is onions on the sandwich." Well folks - you can see the menu for yourselves, right? :) He went over and above to be rude, condescending and just mean. To that man, I'm sorry for whatever you're going through to be that nasty to your customers. Your customer who is an established local - not a seasonal tourist. We talk to locals. We return to good establishments. This will get the talk, but...
Read moreWas there for lunch today. Ordered at the window told the young man I wanted my cold tuna salad on a grinder roll. He commented like he understood the order. My order comes it’s on toast and warm I went back to the window to explain the order was wrong a few minutes later it comes out and it’s wrong again. The young man went to tell whom I think was the manager that it was wrong again. I heard him tell the young man that if I wanted something else made I would have to pay double because they already wasted two meals. So I go in and talk to the “manager” and he insisted that they were not wrong and I was. I went back out to read the menu and confirmed I had ordered correctly and they just made it wrong. He told me he would have to charge me more. I then asked for my money back because at that point my husband was already done with his lunch. He said “fine” you can take your money and eat somewhere else. I asked him what happened to friendly customer service. He said not for customers like me. After I told my husband what happened he went inside to talk to him and the manager kept arguing with my husband. The manager proceeded to say “go back to misquamicut like the rest of the trash” EXTREMELY arrogant and rude person. Should not be in the business that deals with customers. Can’t not believe he had the nerve to treat a customer like that it doesn’t matter where...
Read moreWe love visiting the local beach when we are in RI. And the trip isn’t complete without a stop at St. Clair Annex. My one complaint is that they only accept cash. I don’t get it. They would make so many more sales if they accepted Credit Card. We are always counting our dollars and limiting what we order. (Even though there is an ATM in the restaurant). By the time you get to the front of the line, you want to order more, but it’s too late because you would have to hop out of line and go to the ATM if you decide to add to your order. With COVID you can’t dine in, but I think that is okay. It usually packed and loud. So ordering from the window and then taking it to go was not an inconvenience. I would plan on $15 for a meal. (Sandwich and fries) You’ll definitely want ice cream, since they have such interesting flavors. So if that’s the case, have $20+
Also, they have kids size cones. You won’t see it on the menu, but just ask. A little bit smaller than the single scoop, but still plenty...
