Ocean State Job Lot — Local services in Westerly

If I could give this location a negative star rating, I would.

The store itself is like any other Job Lot that I have been to, but with it being a quick stop to use the restroom and grab a snack, I was absolutely DISGUSTED by the way that the women's bathroom looked. The outside of the stall doors were filthy, as were the insides of them. With me being handicapped, I had to use the appropriate stall... Thank GOD that I bring gloves and a travel pack of Lysol wipes with me into EVERY public restroom, because the toilet had feces on the rim, under the seat and on the wall. YOU'RE WELCOME WESTERLY, RI OCEAN STATE... I DID the staff person's job who signed off for first shift today!

P. S. It might make a better atmosphere if your cashier's actually smiled and weren't leaned all over their area, looking as if they were bothered by me wanting to make a one...

This store has a wide variety of things for the home, a limited supply of clothing, plus a nice selection of dry foods. They have sheets, towels, things for the yard and garden, cosmetics, toiletries, stationery, toys, beach accessories, lots of chips, popcorn, cookies, crackers, dried fruits and nuts. There is a limited selection of bottled soft drinks, and they always have pallets of Polar brand soda and flavored seltzers. The best thing about this store is the way everything is kept neat and clean. Just remember that the business model for this chain is that they stock closeouts, overruns, and salvaged items, so don't expect to find your favorite brands every time. It is hit or miss. I do my best not to bother employees for directions or whereabouts of items because I understand they all have jobs to complete. But, this afternoon when I walked in I didn't think it would be to much of a inconvenience due to the fact that they didn't look busy, they were all huddled in a circle chatting, and there were no lines that I decided I could ask them where or if there was fall decorations . They looked at me with all puzzled and disgusted looks, asked me 3 times what i meant by decorations and then rudely said "No , why would we have that ?". I felt embarrassed and walked out immediately . Shame on employees that treat there custumers like that.I have always loved job lot but I won't be going back to this...
