The 99 in Westerly is amazing. Always pleased with the outcome of the experience. There are restaurants in town that I would pass on, they have been over-glorified for the average person. When a restaurant is clean, welcoming, affordable and has great food, there’s nothing more needed. Other restaurants in town make it nearly impossible to bring your children to, or more than a few friends/family without the bill being too high. We need these nice, simple restaurants for those who live year-round and locals can enjoy. It’s different with those who vacation and would like to spend a bit more for a restaurant that is ‘fancier’. Keeping an even balance is very important in our town and being able to serve everyone who lives here, is mandatory.
You need a restaurant where the average working family can bring their children and have them leave with a smile on their face. (Also, kids eat free when the Red Sox win!)
Of course location and atmosphere is different for everyone, but as an eater who doesn’t need a ‘grand meal’ to satisfy, 99 is the perfect option! Thank you to the staff for being so welcoming and kind.
Service is very well, staff is extremely caring. Food is very well prepared. Location and atmosphere gets a 10/10.
I would recommend!
Our server Madeline is amazing and always knows how to put a smile...
Read moreThis was by far the worst 99 Restaurant I have ever been to. We ordered soup and our dinners came with side salads. Well the soup came out which was great but less than 10 minutes later our entrees came out. The manager brought them and when I told him we had not even received our salads (and he could clearly see we were only half done with our soup) he just said I'll check on your salad. When he returned with our salads he said that they were not given to us before the entrees because his staff was "chopping the lettuce". When I asked why all of our food was on our table at once he said "well we're not busy tonight so our cooks just fill the orders right away". When I suggested that this was poor planning - instead apologizing or even pretending to care - he said "I'll tell my GM". Nothing was done to rectify the situation - no offer of dessert or anything - he never even came back to our table to ask how we were doing. He is the worst manager I have ever encountered. Shame too because the Host who seated us was a very nice and personable young man and I told him that on the way out. This, by the way, is the first bad review I have EVER given. I am not picky or a curmudgeon but this was inexcusable and I feel like the manager could have not been more...
Read moreThis place used to be my favorite until last Sunday. We had to wait 55 minutes to get our order wrong! The place was not busy but still the waitress kept bringing us popcorn and says the food should be ready shortly. I didn’t say anything because it’s not her fault. Both dishes came with glaze on the chicken when i said 2 times no glaze. 55 minutes later the waitress came holding the dishes and she apologized and said they put glaze by mistake on your dishes. She was waiting my reaction to see if I will accept it as is and left it on my table. I told her that we don’t like the glaze so she made me remove the chicken from both dishes and left the 2 sides and said she will bring 2 plain pieces of chicken shortly. Unprofessional! Next time it’s either you remove the chicken or you take back the whole dish and do it in the kitchen. 15 minutes later she brought the chicken when we already finished our sides. Basically our dinner that night was popcorn. No manager showed up to apologize or clarify why this happened or why this delay and long wait to get the food. Underhanded… At the end, she brought me the bill and said i did a little discount for what happened, $5 🙂. I still left her 20% tips and left with a...
