Update written 10/2023: I changed my rating to 1 since I no longer will go to this location. I’d give absolutely no stars if I could. I’ve had so many issues with this store not fulfilling orders, having only one lane open which forces large orders to use the self checkout, for not having things stocked for days on end and for the pharmacy employees having poor communication. I fully understand that this store struggles HARD in all areas but I no longer will no longer being giving my business to this location even though it’s the most convenient store for me to go to. The only reason I’d come back is to go to their liquor store if I can’t find what I needed elsewhere. I tried shopping at 2 other locations that are kind of close to us and they were stocked much better than this one, employees actually engaged with me when I needed to find something instead of ignoring my existence. There’s were multiple lines open at those stores which I was shocked and pleased to see. If you have issues at this store then I highly recommend going to Meijer and Market District at Maxtown Road, Fresh Thyme on Polaris Parkway and Aldi on State Street.
Originally written in 2022 when I gave 2 stars: I shopped around to find other stores that have some sort of fuel rewards and I’ve found a few way better choices in grocery stores.
I only like this store because it’s convenient to where my house is located but if you’re doing pick up orders or delivery orders, do not expect to get exactly what you ordered. If you’re getting ingredients for specific recipes then expect to have to go back or somewhere else to get the other ingredients. I place orders over 12 hours in advance and I still don’t get everything I need. I’m not sure that I’ve ever gotten a full order from this location. I work outside of the central Columbus area and choose to go to that Kroger more often because they actually complete the orders I place or contact me about substitutions with enough time to actually get what I need. They also would go out of their way to make sure they’re subbing things I’d actually use. Maybe this stores inventory is harder to keep up on which is what leads to not getting the product I originally put in my order. I’ll try to be more mindful about what I need while I’m on my way home from work so I can go to the other Kroger.
When I go here to the pharmacy I seem to more often that not get the same guy who checks me out. He does not greet anyone, not even a hi. It’s him always asking for what I’m there to pick up. He does not ask for a loyalty rewards card and gives no friendly farewell greeting either. Customer service just isn’t...
Read moreI went to the front desk the make a Western Union quick collect payment to a business. The person behind the desk, a young man was horrible and very incompetent. He basically ignored me, and didn’t have answers to the simple questions I asked about Western Union. So, after repeating what type of payment I wanted 4 or 5 times, he incorrectly processed my payment through Checkfree which caused a delay in the payment being processed. I also knew that the cost to pay through Western Union quick collect was $9.99 not $2.00, I told the employee this information repeatedly in our conversation. As a result, instead of my payment posting that day it took 5 days. This cost me time and money. I called and talked to the store manager after I called the company and found out that the payment didn’t post. I didn’t want anyone else to go through what I went through and I was curious to know what I could have said differently or what the employee didn’t do that should have been done. The employee did not ask me if the payment was going to a person or a business, he didn’t ask or listen to the fact that I wanted to use WU (there are 3 choices: WU, Checkfree, and MoneyGram), he just pick the cheapest which was Checkfree after I clearly stated I wanted WU and it cost $9.99 to use this service. I did feel that I was listened to by the manager and I was told that the employee would be re-trained (and at that point I wanted him written up because he messed up a $2000 transaction).
I thought the issue was somewhat resolved until I went back up to the store a couple of days later and saw the same employee acting as a supervisor. When I talked to the store manager after my issue, I was told that the employee sometimes took over as acting supervisor. This was surprising to me because he is very incompetent, and has an attitude problem. I was in the self checkout lane and he saw me. Instead of coming up to me and apologizing for his incompetence, he ordered another employee to help me. He then ran away to the other part of the checkout area. He did all this while staring me down.
The lack of accountability, the incompetence, and the lack of care this store showed let’s me know that this particular Kroger does not care about their customers. And, my advice to anyone doing business with the front desk is…if the employee does not know what they are doing or if they act like they don’t care about your transaction…call the store manager. And, if you still don’t feel comfortable, go across the street to Walmart. I wish I would have done this, maybe I would have avoided a 5 day delay in my payment...
Read moreI only shop at Kroger when I buy my groceries. Typically this particular Kroger. Even though I've been in the store many of times and many of times they have been out of a lot of things that I like to buy on a regular basis I never have made any complaints. But today was a different story. I was in there today around 2:45 in the afternoon getting some groceries. There was only one lane open besides the scan at yourself Lanes. So I was scanning my own groceries and for some reason it popped up on the screen that I had to wait for assistance. An older woman with glasses and short white hair came up and started eyeballing me up and down as she was going through each and every single one of my purchases on the computer screen. To the point where I felt like she was thinking that I had stolen something. Even though I tried to explain to her I had to pick up a bag and put it on the top to make room for my other items to be bagged. Not only did she scroll through every item I purchased on the screen and in the bags once but she did it twice without forgetting to eyeball me two or three more times before finally leaving the area. I've never stolen anything in my life and I've never been treated that way in any store in my entire life particularly Kroger. I'm appalled and I was embarrassed. Is that the way you treat your customers that have been coming to you for years? Or is it just this one lady?...
