Amazing customer service, time and again. At the big-box home improvement stores, I often feel like I'm trying to "hail" an employee for help, and have even found myself shouting, "Hello!?" down empty aisles looking for assistance.
At Roush Hardware, that never happens because the moment you walk in the door, someone asks you what you are looking for. And then they find it for you. If it's hardware, they will send someone to sort through the little drawers of fasteners until you have the correct thing. Last week I took a briefcase strap inside because it was missing the washer that would keep the strap from pulling out of the bracket (causing the bag to crash to the floor). The split washer wasn't doing the job, and in the end there were three store team members helping think through the problem and finally landing on an E clip, which they snapped on for me. I left with my 25-cent clip and my newly-trustworthy briefcase.
If I calculated how much time I save using Roush Hardware, compared to how much I spend there ... (sigh.) I usually end up buying a part that costs less than a dollar. And it saves me an hour compared to a big-box store, plus solves my problem. AND they give me a AAA discount. They should have a tip jar or an option to overpay voluntarily. I always feel like I am getting a steal, and they are getting the short end of the stick. And yet they never fail to be friendly and helpful. Im pretty strapped for cash right now so when I buy things I really have to plan it out because there is no room for error. I had made a mistake In buying the wrong part at another store. To fix my issue I decided to head on over to Roush and put together some sort of adapter to make what I had bought earlier that day work. I had no idea what I was looking for or were in the store to start. Luckily for me this place has top notch staff. 2 different gentlemen found me in store and asked if I needed assistance. Both were very helpful and I am sorry I forgot your names or I would mention you here. You guys rock. When checking out I ran into a slight issue and the cashier Tealor was able to help me out. If not for these 3 people then I would not have been able to repair my sink without a plumber. This has to be one of the best places to go for hardware and fittings plus much more it seemed. Thank you Roush and employees for all the great help. In 2022 I no longer expect business to go above and beyond for there costumers. It seems like that stopped a long time ago. Read moreI’ll never forget the first time I came to our Roush hardware here in Westerville and took my allowance to buy a pocket knife at a sidewalk sale that they were holding. It was one of my proudest moments as a kid. But today after 50 years in this city it was a whole different story. When walking in the store today, one of the associates at the cashiers area looked up from her phone to greet me as I walked back to the service counter. Ok. I made eye contact with two men back there who had nothing to say to me for at least a minute. One of the associate finally says to me, and now, how can I help you and I had inquired about Parts for my lawnmower. He looked at his partner and his partner said check out aisle 12, so I went to aisle 12 and the guy that made the comment, he ended up coming by me, did not offer me anything whatsoever and after I spent 10 minutes trying to find a part I was looking for. Severely disappointed and frustrated and as I walked to the exit, where I watch both cashiers never look up from their phones. Roush Hardware you’ve become a disappointment to me and the citizens of Westerville and I will never come here again and be sure to tell all of my friends in town about your incompetent staff.
