This spa has potential to be really great. Unfortunately they fall short, and maybe it's management. I made my appointment and was told to arrive 15 minutes early. I arrived 1045 to start at 11. They couldn't find me when i checked in bc they booked multiple people with the same name. When i was being shown the locker, the woman asked my start time, (she should already know this since she checked me in). I said 11, she seemed shocked, but she said ok, use the sauna if you want, directed me to the waiting area, and instructed me to be mindful of the time. Since i was told my appointment is at 11, i just went straight to the waiting area. 1115 i went to the check in area to make sure everything is ok, they said I'm suppose to start at 1130. That's irritating bc i rushed to get ready and sat waiting & wondering and i could have used the sauna. They responded saying they never start at 1100, so i asked then why when i said i start at 11 did no body look into things further.
Massage was the OTS signature 90 min with reflexology and scalp massage. The description says deep tissue with stretching. It should say Swedish massage and no stretching. I asked 3 times to go firmer, but i guess she didn't understand. The reflexology was also like a light tickle.
The facial was the biolift with kundalini spinal rub.... they should get rid of the kundalini part but she afraid to touch me. She didn't know how to do a facial. I did not get exfoliated. You should not go from my oily rubbed chest to face. It's face to neck and don't go back on my face. Each cream or substance she put on my face was rubbed for 10 seconds than removed. Again from my chest to my face. She also didn't go near my upper lip area or whole nose with anything. My extractions were 1 min long, so that's that. She rubbed a wax massage cream in my face, perfect for my black heads. She also kept drinking her water during my facial which was weird.
The environment smells great but all the workers are wearing their personal everyday sneakers or shoes and they don't look clean, and other ppl are coming to get treatments in street clothes, sprawling their coats and handbags in the seats we sit in with robes. Normally spas keep the area like a sanctuary.
It seemed like the people working might not be fully trained in the techniques offered or they are not familiar with the description of their massages. Either way, each person performed their task with the lightest touch.
For my peppermint pedicure i think they were running low in the mask, she barely applied any. She was also afraid I'd break if touch me too hard for my foot massage.
I was hoping to feel refreshed and have muscle relief instead i feel like i need to shower and repeat a facial next week. My roller ball gives a better massage.
If you're coming for a spa day, bring some fruit, they only have trail mix and tea. Its a communal bowl with Chinese soup spoons used to get the nuts out, but everyone puts their own spoons back on top of clean spoons. I spent over 500$ at this establishment. It would have been nice to feel like i was important, but from the moment i called to make my appointment they could care less. They also could care less how i felt leaving since they didn't ask how everything was. It's obviously a local place, has its regulars and isn't interested in making new customers feel the need to return. Which is fine, bc there's...
Read moreI booked a 90 minute prenatal massage plus a 15 minute scalp massage, which after surveying many friends, would be expected to be a total of 105 minutes. Nope, just 90m.
I had a 9 AM appointment and Google said they opened at 9 AM so I went to a coffee shop down the street and walked in at 8:55. I made a point of telling them that no one ever told me if they opened early after the woman checked me in and mentioned that we were "short on time." They brought me upstairs and had me fill out paperwork and then brought me straight to the room to get undressed there. By the time we started, it was a quarter after, which they cut out of my massage time.
I am nine months pregnant. This room was incredibly small and tight to get undressed in I also really was hoping for the spa experience. I wanted to sit in the quiet lounge in a robe and relax after, which felt like it wasn't even an option. The "Zen Zone" had six chairs, some mixed nuts, they dimmed the lighting after I sat down and offered me water or tea. The fire place wasn't turned on, so kind of a blah vibe.
I'd give the massage a 3/10. It was more of an oil rub down and they do side-lying prenatal only. The scalp massage wasn't particularly enjoyable. She asked if I was OK with oil in my hair which I assumed she meant since it was already on her hands so I said sure and then she poured oil directly on my hair and basically just grinded it into the top of my head. She didn't do my temples, forehead or surface of my hair line. She felt inexperienced.
What really topped it off was my check out experience . A woman with short black hair and glasses, checked me out. It felt very transactional, she didn't even ask how my service was. She told me the total and then asked if I'd like an envelope for gratuity. I told her I didn't have any cash on me and I'd like to add it to the card. She said they don't accept gratuity on cards, but that there was a bank down the street. I told her I don't have time to go to the bank and come back and she said OK. Well here's an envelope. You can drop it off another time. I told her I don't live in the area and asked if my masseuse took Venmo she replied "I don't know". So I asked if she could go ask and she did, but first informed me that their tip policy was in the confirmation text (which I never received.) While we were having this lovely conversation, I also made a point of telling her that they've also docked 10 minutes off of my massage for never informing me that they opened earlier than the start time of my massage, sure I could've assumed it, but they also could've told me directly. They said it's mentioned in a pop-up window on the website when you booked a massage, I replied that I booked it a month ago. They also told me that their policy is included in the text messages, I replied that I didn't receive a text message and they confirmed that I had opted out.
Overall, I tried this place because I love coming to Westfield and have been looking for a new place that had a better spa experience than my usual place, but I won't be coming back. This was a waste of...
Read moreI was a first time client here recently and was truly hoping for the great experience that so many reviewers have shared. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I will explain. For over a year, I had been looking forward to a massage and was so excited when I was able to finally book my experience.
As this was my first time there, I did not know that the entrance was in the back parking lot due in part to the fact that there was no available parking when I initially arrived, I parked on the street and just entered via the front door. There is a hair salon upon your entrance then another door into the Spa. As soon as I entered a woman named Caroline did not immediately acknowledge me. I walked up to her and she immediately seemed bothered and rather meanly asked if I was there for a service. I preceded to give her my name when she immediately states that a mask is "mandatory". I of course, have no issue following rules, I just had simply forgotten mine in the car which I explained. Oh btw, Caroline did not herself have a mask on while telling me I need a mask. No bother. She then quickly interjects and says you can grab one by the door which is the actual entrance to the Spa. Again, my first time there, and I did not park in the back so I did not know. I go get a mask and before I even reach to it she says "your welcome". I would have said "thank you" had you given me the time to actually grab it. This is not the way to start what should be a peaceful treatment. The overall sitting area is nothing to write home about, simple, and the gas fireplace was not working. The locker room also not open neither were the saunas. The therapist was not the friendliest, only got 50 mns and not 60. Fine , I can live with that. My massage room was right next to the bathroom where all you hear is toilet flushes during the entirety of your service. The whole vibe of this place is as though they believe they are a Beverly Hills Spa facility, quite pretentious really. I wont be returning and a friend who was going to book, also will no longer be booking now. You should treat people better, at the very least with some courtesy, especially if you are offering personal...
