YESTERcades of Westfield — Attraction in Westfield

Let me start off by saying the place, the atmosphere and the people that work there are great but based on my last interaction with this particular location, their management its extremely poor. I called on January 19th 2023 asking for details for a possibly party on January 28th for my son, female on the other side of the line stated that January 28th was open and proceeded to give me details about the party room rental, including food packages and guest count. Everything sounded great, so I told her I wanted to confirm the amount of kids i was going to take if it was ok for me to contact them early next week ( the call was made on Thursday January 19th) to complete the registration. Female stated that was ok. Today, Tuesday January 28th (4 days after) I call the shop with the confirmed amount of kids i will be taking and for me to complete the reservation. Call was answered by Manager Arianna Zailla who stated place its booked until April, immediately i go into panic mode because not only my son but his friends have in their mind that they are going to spend my sons bday at yestercades this Saturday. I explained situation to manager Arianna, understanding that theres protocols and guidelines that they need to follow for party events ( i completely understand that ) but also letting her know that that specific information, that the place its booked until April, was never mentioned to me on my call to the store in January 19th. If that info was given to me on my first call all of this could of have been avoided it. Manager Arianna, not one time showed any type of empathy regarding my current situation, (telling my son and his friends that party wont happen) and to my believe handled the situation extremely poorly. For this particular reason I give them a rating of 1 star and wont be attending this particular location no more ( and so you know we have been there several times in which we completed 2 cards for a free hour, that tells you how many times we have been there). UPDATE ! Received call from Gary Beish, Director of operations, who was able to resolve a clear miscommunication between myself and the staff at the Westfield location. I do have to mention that Gary was extremely professional, cordial and helpful through this whole process and was able to find a resolution for both parties. These guys are the best, hands down! I was planning to surprise my husband for his 40th birthday by sending him and the guys here, as he kept talking about how much he wanted to go. So, I called them up weeks prior to see what I could do. The guy who answered my call was fantastic. He put me in touch with the guy in charge of parties. He explained that due to COVID-19 and all the restrictions in place as a result, it could not be a full-on party, as described on the website. He said what I could do was send them all over, when they wanted, and they could play for as long as they wanted. I then asked if I could pay him ahead of time, as it was part of his bday gift. He was so accommodating. I was able to call the day of and give him my credit card information. He told me someone would call me when they were all ready to check out with a total, if I was ok with it, if it wasn't too late. I agreed, happily.

So, they call me at the end of the night, around quarter to one in the morning. The guy tells me my card was declined. We were on the phone for a good twenty minutes trying to get it all figured out. He said that he would call the manager and see if I would be able to come in the next day to pay them, as he didn't think it would be a problem. He puts me on hold while he called his managers. In that time, I had received a notice from my bank that they flagged it as fraudulent activity. I was able to locate another card in the meantime and pay over the phone with the new card.

I have never in my life experienced such incredible customer service. I cannot recommend this place enough! Amazing. And the guys had an amazing time. Thank you to all of you at Yestercades! We...

A great place to spend the day around some great restaurants. I go here with my significant other on dates frequently and have the day or night to ourselves. A lot of the classics you remember mixed with pool tables, 4K UHD TV’s with sound bars and consoles from Atari to PS4 hooked up and ready to play, 80’s music and commercials surrounding you on more flat screens, pinball tables galore, and even refreshments to buy such as soda and candy. If you want to make a date out of it, nearby is a diner, a pizzeria, and a couple other food spots with a bakery down the street. There is also the New Vision Rialto down the street to make it a movie, dinner, and game night. Fridays and Saturdays they are open late in case you need a last minute activity. Be forewarned though and this is where the minus one star comes from, on said days, it can get really hectic and loud. It is BYOB and people do, but there were times we had to leave because there were patrons that were completely intoxicated and the staff were ill equipped to handle such matters therefore making for a very uncomfortable environment. Definitely more meant for a weekday or a weekend afternoon rather than a Friday or Saturday night affair. There are three locations and their games are in rotation through all three so if you want to play them all, it’s worth going...
