My daughter has been going to the pediatric nephrologist at UH/Rainbow Babies for several years. We will no longer be going here now, the office staff will treat you terribly. They are not friendly and will barely look at you or listen to you when you come in. They have a system in place when you arrive, it texts you the morning of your appointment and asks you to notify them when your in the parking lot. So they’ll let you know when to come into the office waiting room. This has been in place since Covid. We did this, and were left waiting in our car for 45 min! They then sent us a text to come inside. We walked in and they claimed we were late and off the schedule now. And if we wanted to we could wait and maybe the doctor might get to us later in the day, but couldn’t guarantee. Well we live an hour away! And we were on time according to their system. We followed their rules. And they told us we should’ve ignored the system and just walked on in. Well why would I do that?!? Just crazy! They never apologized to us for making us wait and then had the nerve to blame this on us. When we followed their rules. Just ridiculous. So they took patients back that should’ve been made to wait behind us. And basically punished us to sit and wait and see. This was late morning, I’m not going to wait all day. So we left. And will not return! Office needs to either notify patients to ignore the text system, or learn how to use it properly. Very frustrating. And how awful, to have unfriendly staff working in a pediatric office! Do yourself a favor and avoid this place! Besides all that, they can’t seem to keep a doctor on staff for more than a year. It’s always someone...
Read moreWent there to take a look at my son who had a broken arm due to skateboard accident. He had broken the same arm on same place a year ago so we knew pretty much what to expect, so we basically just went there to have x-rays done to confirm the diagnosis and expected to see the orthopedic doctor to set his arm the next day. Instead, the doctor told us he consulted the main campus orthopedic and that we needed to go to the main campus ER immediatelly to have the arm set in place with anestesia. When we asked the doctor why can't this wait until tomorrow, he looked us in the eye and said: "because you don't want the bone to heal improperly", a flat out lie, as bones take anywhere 4-6 weeks to heal. As a comforting statement they also said we can drive to the main campus, we don't need to take the ambulance?!?! What a relief. Of course we refused to do anything, and went home and saw the orthopedic surgeon next day who set his hand easily and without anestesia. Stay away from this urgent care and UH health system, they are just there to take your money, make things more complicated than what they are and pressure you into making difficult decision on spot. The whole 45 minute visit came out to $205 doctor fee, and $489 for x-rays, a contracted rate with our insurance we'll have to pay as it is part of our deductable. By doing the research online, if we had told them we didn't have insurance and were paying cash, we would have paid half the amount, if not 1/3. That's how much is health care insurance worth in this country, but that is...
Read moreused to go to university hospital years ago (was about 14, im 18 now) for regular checkups on my spine for scoliosis issues i used to have. was treated with the most disrespect from the doctors whenever asked about receiving surgery for my spine as i was in immense pain mentally and physically. was denied an operation every single time i went back for a checkup even though i had eventually reached the correct amount of curve degrees needed to perform the surgery. the doctors would tell me false information about the process of the surgery as i guess a way to scare me out of getting the surgery that i later found out were lies when i researched them through trustful sources. started physical therapy there as their suggestion to “stop my curve from getting worse”. later realized this was a complete scam for money as the physical therapists had me doing the treadmill for the majority of the appointments every time and no beneficial exercises were ever given to me. thankfully only a year or so later my parents were able to find a surgeon from the cleveland clinic who would operate on me, (plus had way more experience with the surgery than the doctor i had had at uh) had my surgery at 15 and everything went extremely well, i recovered from my surgery fairly quickly and have been doing great ever since. do not go here for medical or professional advice, you’ll simply...
