Moved to Westland about a year ago and this place was recommended to me by a friend , he swore by it , loves it , me - not so impressed . Today was my first time in. Got off work and needed to shop But hadnāt used the bathroom in 6 hours so first thing I did was find someone in the store and get directions to the bathroom . Bathrooms tell you a lot about people and places and this started out on a bad foot immediately, the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting , and the whole time I was questioning when the last time it got cleaned was . Certified nasty and a terrible first impression .And as I was washing my hands a lady that worked there came in , I said āoh hello , excuse me ā no response - then she goes into the stall and starts cursing . Didnāt bother me but was kinda rude and inappropriate . Second they have a lot of good stuff but also markup a lot . For instance ore-ida fries - usually go 2 for 5 elsewhere here theyāre $5 a bag . Knorrs sides , usually about $1.30 lately at Kroger - here $1.99. 4 sticks of butter $5.69 vs about 4.50 . Itās not huge but itās a lot once stuff starts adding up . Their rotisserie chicken is $8 . Not like $6-7 like at sams or meijer (been a while since I last checked , may be off a bit ) but you get my point . Lower traffic store , higher prices . Honestly I may come back just for the slower pace of the store and less people but the prices make me not want to honestly . And CLEAN YOUR...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUsed to shop here occasionally pre-covid and was surprised at how downhill this location has gone since. It doesn't look well cared after and prices are insane. I'm a person who will pay a bit more if the service is great...but the service wasn't great. Many items are near expiry. We got burned when we came in 2 weeks ago bought a 24 pack of ice cream sandwiches that expired over 14 months ago, and they tasted horrible. They don't really seem to acknowledge that expired products are a chronic issue, and today when I inquired about the process was told there was nothing they could do even though I had the receipt and offered to bring the entire box of ice cream back. I manage a small business. We resolve any issues and offer a solution so we have a customer in the future. They lost more money by not offering a solution, because now I'll take my grandma somewhere else to do her grocery shopping. Not a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis store is always well kept and has great deals on products (always a good idea to check the dates though). Itās always easy in and easy out with great weekly sale items. HOWEVER, thereās a male employee here who wears a Tump mask on his chin and not covering his mouth or nose. Heās a tall man with glasses and is very rude and unfriendly, and often glares at people in a threatening manner, almost as if heās waiting for you to say something to him about his inability to understand how to wear a mask properly. I think the owners/management should either get rid of him or make him collect carts outside since he isnāt intelligent enough to figure out how to wear his mask. He seems like he may be special needs but still, wear your mask properly for the sake of others and if Heartland still wants my business, theyāll do...
