Vintage Market — Local services in Westland

I'm a 20 year resident of Westland. I've live 500ft from the business. I never had any complaints until the new managers took over about 3 years ago. He kept telling me they weren't hiring despite having signs up for over a week. I notice later on that all the workers there were young pretty girls. I was fully qualified for the job, I just don't think I was pretty enough. The manager gives me an attitude. Last month when I was in there I was standing in line waiting for them to count my bottles and I had a snicker bar in my hand. He came up behind me and asked if I was going to pay for that. I asked him confused "excuse me?" And he told me to get the f* out of his store. I went into the store several times after that with no problem whatsoever. I even brought my dog in there with me with no problems. I saw they were hiring again and I asked the cashier for a job and she said they weren't hiring again. I started crying hysterically because I could not understand why they have been treating me this way for all these years. I believe it's because I called him out on only hiring young pretty girls. I went in there to turn in my lottery tickets they sold me the day before when I noticed the manager was following me around making sure he was at the cash register when I got to the front of the line. At that point he told me again to get the f* out of a store and would not give me a reason why. He claimed in the past that he saw me steal, leave the building get into my car and drive off. That is a complete lie because I have epilepsy. I don't own a car, I don't even have a license. I could never drive again because of my seizures. He refuses the show me the proof of his lies and he banned my from the only place I can buy groceries from while riding a bike for no reason whatsoever. They are rude, mean, hateful bullies who discriminate against the disabled. They have caused me serious emotional distress ed I'm not going to let this happen to anybody else. Justice will be served. Please do not support this...

I lived nearby for 10 years, and when a coworker that lives out in Fowlerville told me he drives all the way out by my house to buy all his meats for events from Vintage Market...I had to go to this market to give them a try. Now I won't buy my chicken/meats from anywhere else. I appreciate that they are picky about who they hire...cause they have a staff that maintains a clean and well-kept deli, meat counter, and produce section. Their pizza is even good, and pretty inexpensive! Their regular groceries are a bit high priced, but that's normal convenience store pricing. This place shines for it's alcohol selection, it's awesome meat butcher and deli counter, and it's ready food selection...and some good desserts! We are in here every day picking up fresh meat/ chicken for our dinners. High quality meats and poultry... Much better quality than the Kroger meat counter, no contest. And yes, their meat counter and deli have different hours than the store hours...just like every other deli/meat counter that is located in a store. Never had a bad experience here. I'm not saying this is a sophisticated or hoity-toity market...but I think this store aims to cater to working folks with slightly more sophisticated tastes, who appreciate finer things. A rare gem in Wayne County. I am lucky to live close to this awesome...

Please BEWARE! When buying a meat bundle!!! We’ve purchased 4 all costing more than $100+ and 3 of the times we received some spoiled meat. They smelled like bad fish. The first time it was chicken wings, the second time it was pork chops and they kindly exchanged them for us. Today we’ve had enough. We got spoiled chicken breasts, spoiled sausage and questionable steak. So we called and asked if they could exchange it again and they said yes. When we brought the spoiled meat back they refused to take the sausage back because we repacked it and told us that the brown steaks we got are good. Even arguing the meat was fine! Someone behind the counter mentioned how badly it smelled. We are disappointed in the low quality we’ve received in our meat bundles ESPECIALLY since this has never happened buying smaller quantities and we are paying so much!!! We liked supporting this store but we will no longer be shopping here. I’m not using my nose to determine what meat is fresh and what meat is not and hope they will exchange it. Can’t forget to mention this meat comes with no packaging info and no use by date. So ultimately we have no idea what we have or how old...
