Crystal Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Westland

My friend and I have been going up there for years supporting them spending money. The last few times we’ve gone up there we have had very bad service. Tonight we stopped ordered a patron which cost $13 and a water from the bar as we did not get service at a table. Sat at a different table and a waitress came over and we told her we were all set. She looked at us and said there is a two drink minimum. I told her I had a patron and she had a water and she wanted to argue this with us. All of a sudden, another waitress at a table that was eating food and the skinny guy with the glasses that claims he is the boss got in our faces and asked us to leave and he said he would pay me for my patron. Could not understand why we were being harassed like that and it’s not the first time. We left we stopped to talk to people that were on the patio that we knew, he came out and tried to apologize to us. We are done with that place, horrible, horrible service. We should not have been treated that way we are women in our late 60s. You do not treat your paying customers that way. We are done, we will never go...

Friday night and they had a live band. There was a 1 drink minimum so I ordered a Long Island. We (my bf and I) had been there previously and it was always fun. After discussing actually coming back periodically because we enjoyed ourselves, our plans quickly changed. The Long Island was terrible and my bf asked the waitress for a different drink to replace the very unsavory Long Island that was served to me. The waitress requested payment for the new drink. We both refused to pay for the new drink as it was to replace the awful Long Island that was still a full glass, not worthy of being consumed. As we neared the exit door the manager approached asking us what the problem was. Upon telling him the issue, he responded that we were the first ones of the night to complain about the bad tasting drink, never offering any resolution to this problem. This was a bad experience and I will never patronize this establishment again, very poor customer service. I cannot recommend Crystal's, they lost me...

What a great bar! Live music, good food and drinks, affordable. Service was great for our group of 6, and the band was awesome. We had a great time.

As for food, we ordered a variety of things: the sampler platter, burgers and steak fries, salads, and the jumbo shrimp. Everything was perfect, honestly. I'm always wary of ordering a salad at the bar, but I had the julienne and it was so fresh and tasty with good lunch meats and American cheese, and my Mom's Caesar with chicken also looked really good. A nice large portion and homemade dressings. (The good ranch!) The sampler platter also looked amazing, and hubby said it was good - everything was friend perfectly and it came out nice and hot. You can't go wrong with fried shrimp, and the burgers looked fresh and delicious. They only have a small selection of drafts, and nothing craft, but they do have a couple of craft bottles. They have pool tables and TVs; seems like a fun place to watch a game as well....
